Orient DC Inverter Air Conditioner

Dear All,

I have bought Orient 1 Ton DC Inveter Prime Series AC 15 days back for my home ! Alhamdullilah It's working fine but I need some suggestions regarding best temperature to be set for cost saving because I have a small room.

I have tried following:

Case 1:

Full Fan Speed, Temperature:26, Cooling (Mode), Units used around (6,7) in one night (12AM - 07AM)

Case 2:
=======
Auto Fan Speed, Temperature:26, Auto (Mode), Units used around (6,7) in one night (12AM - 07AM)

No matter what setting I set units are around 6,7 . Is there any better temperature setting that will be more cost saving for me ?

Fan: Auto
Mode: Cooling
Air swing on and properly adjusted to circulate air evenly in the room.
26C
Ceiling fan: off
Room door properly closed

ACs work best with ceiling fan off. If you keep ceiling fan on, the ceiling fan will instantly draw hot air from other room as soon as the door opens.

If you are buying inverter AC the power consumption is relation to heat load..it will not consume 1450W continuously...design your cooling space well..shut down unnecessary heat generating equipments..insulate and seal the space well..and you will begin to see lot of savings...

Can anybody let me know, what is DC inverter AC. I have normal samsung one ton AC in each 3 rooms. What is the differance between both.

DC inverter means the compressor (and also the indoor and outdoor motor in high end models) is using a permanent magnet DC pulse driven motor..which saves 20-40% energy over conventional AC motors..the savings are significant in single phase equipments because single phase motors are less efficient than three phase motors.

Inverter motors require a complicate driving circuit where AC input is converted to DC pulses. All Inverter motor by design offer linear variable speed control from 1-100% range.

**I hav two inverter reverseable acs... One oreint and one dawlance. Both works the same. **
**At the start. Very slowly rise current till 6 ampere and it remains at 6 till it meets the temperature. After meeting temprature. It drops to 0.5 ampere with light blow. **
**After some time switch to 1.5ampere or 3 ampere if its night or day time. It keeps switching between 0.5 and 1.5/3 ampere. **
If there is load shedding then it ll again start frm 6 ampere always.
During winters. It draws 7.2 amperes for heating.....

IAM GETTING ERROR CODES ON NEWLY ISTALLED DC INVERTER ORIENT ULTRON SERIES. ...the codes are
F1..F7 &E5 (mostly E5) and compressor stops...no cooling after error codes.....surprisingly no error codes mentioned in their manual and their helpline is pathetic.( like their product) ......what to do ...pls help.....
I should havr gone for gree or haier...i guess

Did they fix your ac? I am thinking to buy ultron, will you recommend it?

As it turned out both of my ACs were fine...nothing wrong with them....orient guys were also cooperative on phone at least.... as their requirement ended when i discovered that the problem was with my house wiring...earth and live wires interchanged in 15 amp switches.....

Ultron is recommended.....but remotes donot have light....which can be disturbing at night with lights off....i have not checked power consumption in detail..
But billing is reduced.....to an acceptable level

i dont think any AC remote comes with backlight

Last night my kid got hands on the AC remote, he kept pressing temp up button many times (max temp is 32) and after some time the LCD started showing weird code. I pressed temp down button but the codes would change. I think it entered into some secret menu lol. I am glad that after power off and on, it was back to normal

Gree inverter models have orange back light

back light comes on with any button, light button is to turn on/off the display on the indoor unit.

cool! i might try to do a diy for backlight in m remote. Will have to check if an LED placed on edge of LCD illuminates it or not.

Btw turning on backlight with every button will probably drain the batteries much quickly

I don't think I have replaced batteries in 2 years of use

I have a APC 3 kVA UPS.. This is a 48 Volt UPS so I have 4x 148 ah Exide batteries. Batteries are about six months old and are getting drained quite quickly now.. I doubt that they need replacement, but what can I do to confirm? Would the acid mixture 'replacement' be of any help?
