Well I guess the “origin” does matter.
PK multivitamins are not as good as European or Americans.

Not only multivitamins, I guess our simple Panadol is also not as effective as it has to be according to its ingredients.

That's not really possible since dietary supplements such as multi-vitamins are not really tightly regulated in foreign (north america and EU) countries either. A multi-vitamin produced by a reputed local or multi-national company in Pakistan is fine.

What bad experience did you have with local ones? Or you have never tried imported ones and you think they might be better? In either case, like the above answer says, imported (non-registered) products can't be sold in the market. How ever, I have seen centrum in pharmacies and also most/all multivitamins made by multi-national companies which are sold worldwide. I'm not sure whether the centrum sold here is locally made or imported...

Couple of years back, we got 1 full bottle of USA made Centrum for our Taya Jee because he was very old & weak.
He took 1 tablet daily and was feeling good & energetic.

After he finished that bottle, we tried to find the same but couldn’t.
I guess Abbott or GSK has taken its rights to produce it in PK. I bought its one bottle and gave to Taya Jee. But he complained that earlier tablet was much better while this PK made centrum brings some blockage in his urinary track and some other indications like extra dizziness, too. He stopped taking PK made Centrum. A cousin of ours bought it from KSA but it was US made. He gave it to Taya Jee and Taya Jee was happy again.

But there are different "flavors" or formulas in centrum.....so maybe the one in pakistan that you bought was a different formula from the one you got from abroad.

Also, it could simply be placebo effect (Like how homeopathy works). This might sound a little cold hearted, but try this, buy local centrum and give it to him, and tell him that it's US/abroad made (come up with a realistic story). I've tried similar stuff with homeopathy "patients" close to me (mixed up their medicines), they don't know the difference, because they don't know they're mixed.

Also, centrum is a pfizer brand. Pfizer is present in Pakistan. They sell products in low volumes but very very high prices (their own patent drugs).

i thinkso u never tried imported medicines... in pk even panadol is also not much effected,,,local centrum is not as good even shopkeepers also says that its local buy any imported one....
