Original paint? How to check?

Is there any way by which u can check that the car is not repainted or resprayed?

u just need to be a little expert for that ... its very easy to check wheather its paint or orginal ... i mean there is a difference .. there is no such formula .. khudi andaza ho jata hey ...

mostly old cars like more than 7 years old if u found the body paint in very gud condition then most of the time its painted not original ...

and u can check by taking the carpets off from the trunk and frm inside body under hood if its welded frm some where then for sure its painted

painted body gets scratch very quick but original paint dont get scratches too quick ...

just check the car if its old and in very gud condition then mostly its painted thts the simple way ..

thn imported cars are repainted?

ye most of them ... imported= reconditioned=repainted
but the quality of paint is almost the same as original one .. dont need to worry abt imported cars they got better paint then our local original paint

may be there is some stupid stuff like t his .. but there is a lot of difference in painted car (local cars )
and abt imported cars .. u can see vitz .. all of them got repainted and recoditioned wid new material ... ever seen the interior ? its completely new low quality stuff

i dont know u want to know abt imported cars or local cars ?

if imported then just dont need to worry if local then u shld check it compeltely from up .. down ,sides , inside etc .. u will get the clue

Yaar for re-panit here check car by Kncoking on body if it sounds a bit stuffy thn its pianted from some Local paintor otherwise it has Original Piant if it sound a bit Metally.

i want to know about both but the people outside the country are so efficient that the cars being imported from there are too new as compared to repainted cars here? wow...and u said all of the vitz are repainted.. may be ur rite coz 99 2000 vitz in such a good condition ....

Method 1: Knock on different pieces of the car. A painted piece will have base(putene) and would sound different

Method 2: Sit beside the car and painted piece will have bubbles or a different texture.

Method 3: At night repainted piece will have different shade than the original one. This method is the simplest one(especially incase of silver cars) and even a kid can tell whether a car is painted from anywhere or not using this method

reconditioned cars are always mean to be repainted dude !!
only 2nd hand car which u wana import got the issue that its original or not ... other wise make it sure tht every recondtioned car is repainted !!

All re-paint doesnt need welding as some times a minor Dents can cause to Re-paint, n i have all sense including Common Sense which might b lacking at ur side, No Offence.

All re-conditioned r not re-painted but many of thm does.

broken: Yr theory wont work on all repainted cars, A repainted car need not to be accidented to get a fresh coat of paint! But anyway, that's a typical theory used by buyers/sellers in local car market so it works for them:)

lol i didnt say wht u both are pointing out lol i never said that every repaint car is welded lol i said if a car is welded then it must have a repaint atleast at that part lol got it ? guys

so it need common sense here peeps if a car is welded how come it can have orginal paint obviously it got a repaint at that part atleast so got ma point ? and the welded part was just one point to make sure that its that part is repainted or not

Suppose if you suspect that a door is repainted then open it up and check door's inside paint with the one you see outside, if its repainted the difference would be there (same condition applies for other body parts).

That is the ultimate check usually a car is rarely painted unless a body panel is dented and the mechanics here do not do proper method of removing dents which involves careful metal-shrinking through heat instead they just use body-fillers, thus knocking does not give a resonant sound but on the contrary a hollow sound revealing a repaired dent and repaint.

for your kind info buddy, we are not importing reconditioned cars, but USED cars. THey are not necessarily repainted in most cases.. Whereas local dealers do buy accidental cars and repair them here, hence selling at a good profit... So no need to label all imported cars as REPAINTED!
