Replaced Hybrid Tahoe with Esclade Hybrid. We have no plans to buy another SUV to replace Q7, as I mentioned earlier.

Its got the same engine as Tahoe Hybrid, right? Not that massive 403bhp beast. Are you getting 21mpg from it as GM claims?

It has the modified V8 from the non-hybrid model. It is modified to shut down on stop lights and speeds below 30mph, in certain conditions. And, YES, it has 403hp to get the ricers in line.

At the moment, we are getting 19mpg on average; with 1200 miles of heavy footed driving.

The ones with the Tahoe motor are not available yet; GM does not have enough capacity to fulfill the demand for Tahoe and Yukon hybrids. There is only one plant that is producing these vehicles. At the moment, you can get it with 403hp motor only. The 332hp motor will become widely available after the summer, hopefully.

Since you brought up this issue, I wonder why anyone would pay such a hefty premium on essentially the same package as in Tahoe and Yukon with the same motor. I and a few others I know switched because of the motor.
