Outdoor Smell inside Honda City Car Cabin

Dear member - I am facing ,infact observing an awkward situation i.e. I have honda city 2010 model. AC is working fine but whenever I pass through any road side / center drain or any diesel vehicle came in front of me so smell of drain / diesel feels inside car cabin even fresh air is closed. Additionally incase of high dusty area, small dust particles could also be seen on car dashboard. Can any body help.

Your exhaust vent latch is either stuck or not working, it costs 0rs to fix it, open and press the both sides of the glove box to drop it further, behind it is a while yellow and blue wire-latch, the white one is for AC exhaust vent, it either needs readjusting or it has dismounted from its clip, put it back into its clip.

Or take it to any roadside shop he will do it for free.

I had the same issue. Problem was that there was a gap between the air blower assembly and the air vent coming from outside. I used a combination of foam tapes to seal this gap, problem solved.

Few possible reasons:
Did you get AC serviced lately? Most technicians use pressure water for cleaning, this causes the foam sealing around the blower to get washed away so you have to asked them to install new foam.

Second possible reason is that outside air vent is not closing properly, you can inspect it with a torch.

Third reason is gaps in firewall, you can inspect it from engine bay as well as under the dash.

Yes AC service was done around 3 years back. I will verify these points, hope they work. Thank you.

you would have to ask any mechanic to open this for you. This is something that is never considered, so you have to specially tell them.
