OverHAULIN prado 1kz

I have a 3L turbo diesel (1KZ) engine that is starting to give a blow. I am thinkin of overhaulin it. Can someone please help me with the cost estimate. I need to get this done within this month. Advice on the best/most cost efficient solution/mechanic in LAHORE will be much appreciated.

I was just wondering.... if I change this engine and put in a 2.7L petrol engine, how would that be?? and what all i would need to change in order to run that......

All this is going to be done on a 3 door Prado 96 model.

Not sure about how much the overhauling costs but the 2.7L Petrol is the most pathetic engines ever made for these monsters by toyota.

well the 2.7l power plant will be quite underpowered for a prado..
my cousin has a surf 2001 2.7l... performs better than the 1kz surf..even in desert

dear qamar, dont worry about the blow too much as long as your vehicle is not giving smoke out of exhaust pipe you dont need to overhaul it.

I had prado 1996 tz with fairly high amount of engine blow but i traveled from karachi to khunjrab pass with six pasengers and never experienced any problem caused by the engine blow evcen at 16400ft altitude it was pulling strongly.

try EGR mod, block the vacuum pipe that activates EGR valve with a ball bearing. this helps reduce black clouds at the starts from traffic lights and improve fuel economy. Do googling for how to do it...Toyota EGR ball bearing mod
