salamz brothers...today I got my engine from the machine shop and also received some parts from Karachi like oil pump(genuine)timing chain adjuster(genuine)and piston rings etc as these things were not available from lahore.only replacements were there in the market but original/genuine parts of this car are hard to find(because it is 25 years old car)..any how will start reassemble tomorrow and will post pics INSHALLAH.

@porsche_maker...thanks brother for liking spitfire project..this thread will be limited to the engine overhaul only..and will be complete in 3/4 days INSHALLAH.The perpose of this thread is to provide the details as how the engines are assembled for the brothers who are curious to know the inside story of the engines.And one thing more is to provide some knowledge about how engines are overhauled so some brothers may find it useful in future......Regards..

@iiqbal...thanks brother for liking the spitfire thread so much...gatting the engine overhauled of my corolla 82 after 25 years and 2,50,000 kms and for the first time.....doing it at home and have taken a lot of pics at every step...will post tomorrow INSHALLAH...I shall try with the help of pics and text that every(INTERESTED)pakwheel brother should get basic knowledge about the engines....

I do all the disassembly my self and get the repair work done from black smith (kharadiya) ..but h have never over hauled..

do let me know that hou to remove the rings and how to fix them....Thanxxxx

@abdkhan....when you can strip it down then there should be no problem in assembling again....I will let you know about the ring removal and refitting in this thread...very easy..keep watching..

@palaykhan...its really nice to know that there is some one else on pakwheels too who have 82 corolla and like to keep it....as it is 25 years old now.why you needed all these things???like doors,fenders?wats the milage of you car?

This is actually a wonderful step Spitfire sir!...I dont think anyone else would have done this at home, totally on their ownn and would have managed to show it here! We do have a few very good experts here, but they are hard to catch on PW nowadays!

@spectra....brother,I took the pics of engine overhaul and will be posted very soon with details.KE70 corolla 82 is the last rear wheel drive car.I have kept every model of corolla but did not find any comparable to 82 corolla in respect of its durability and ride comfort.my corolla still have original front shocks and rear replaced once.universal joints of driveshaft replaced only twice in 2,50.000 KM. Never touched engine for any thing except tune up (done by me as I have all the necessary things like "dwell metre,timing gun "etc...so,,this car never gave me any kind of trouble in 25 years...........great machine.
