Overheating Problem in Cultus 2008

Dear Forum members,

I bought a used Cultus (model 2008) in 2013. After buying, I found that the car was over heated due to some mistake of previous owner and it resulted in gasket blown, which was replaced by the previous owner. Since, I got the car in reasonably good condition except this problem which I found later and price was suitable, I decided to buy it. Recently, i did a blunder. I normally check the water level and fill it whenever driving. Unfortunately, one day I filled the water and then my attention was diverted and I forgot to recap the radiator. I drove the car while AC was on for about 30 to 35 km when I found that car was switching off again and again. Later, I found that car was extremely overheated because all water was boiled and the radiator was dry but since the gauge was showing no more than half the temperature, I was initially not worried. After this problem, I am experiencing overheating in my car engine but strangely the gauge only shows half the gauge reading. When I checked this at nearby mechanic, he opened the cap of the overheated radiator and the water pour like a fountain. The mechanic concluded that the gasket and piston rings are worn and possibly the valves too. The radiator is also getting very rusty so it will also be serviced. He also told me that the overheating causes the engine block to bent and this can only be fixed if both the mating parts of the block are machine faced. When I showed the engine to Suzuki showroom technician, he told me that it is normal and nothing to worry, when his supervisor (Suzuki showroom) arrived he gave me final report that the engine will be overhauled and will cost more than 1 lac PKR.
Now, I am extremely confused?. I do not know what to do and what not to do?. Also, I want to know that whether engine overhaul will completely fix the problem or not?. Whether an overhauled engine's performance comparable to genuine engine performance or not?. Please share your valuable suggestion/experience.

i think this problem is in every cultus,, they dont show more than half deflection when overheating,,
mistake is urs,, efi cultus has overheating sensor n it turns of engine when overheating,, u should have cheked it in very first turn off
i dont think engine needs to be overhauled if there is no oi reduction or smoke,, remove engine oil cap while car is hot,, if black smoke emits then engine should be completely overhauled
otherwise,, only change gaskit, valves and seals,,, wont cost more than 10k if best pars used

better get it swapped with a new engine,it wont cost you more then 30k

there is no guarantee for these engines,, plus decreased resale,,
OP,, did u notice decreased performance?? i.e. fuel efficiency, pick??

if the radiator still reduces water, then gasket might be blow and engine might also need overhauling.
yes overhauled engine can give better performance if fitted from kabil mistery but minor problems will always be there and u will have to live with those lil prob e.g lil vibration, consuming lil bit more gas as its giving more power than orignal.

Now adays people buy genuine kabli engine and carve on it the same no as on the book. it does reduces car prices but i have to keep the car for 2-3 years i would prefer genuine kabli engine.

its a simple engine with all parts available - before tearing it down do a compression test and oil pressure test, at most the head gasket is compromised - redo it and make all mating parts of the engine flat as glass including manifold mating surfaces.

You should never use plain water in the cooling system either, its a sure shot way to empty pockets.

what is oil pressure test?

i have cultus 2008 and it donot reduce water pressure it just over heats only on A.C without ac it donot heats up any sugessions or i have to change thermoostat
