while loading the car another local came and really appreciated me for taking this car to that place, hugged me and offerred biscuits
after everything was done and ready i took some tips from our jeep driver kalu on how to to go downhill, he simply said 'utartay waqt gari ko sirf pehle aur dusray gear ma rakhna aur jahan pehle gear se b speed nai ruk rahi ho wahan brake istimaal karna, sirf brake pe nai utarna' and this was exactly what was going in my mind, anyways i was still much scared as what i faced on climbing was extreme and how will i control the car as its too much steep so i asked him 'aisa nai hosakta ap meri gari apni jeep k agay bandh len aur aur utrai pe jahan gari out honay lagay wahan ap pichay se rok len?'
kalu said 'himmat karo bhai jahan itna karlia wahan utrai kuch b nai, tum samjhdar driver ho araam se karloge' that was motivating
anyways to keep the car load free i carried only 3 persons on the way back so that gear and brakes do not take much beating... i was driving, shahroz was my co driver and owais was the light weight banda on back seats !
phr bas ALLAH ka naam lia, safar ki dua, ayat ul kursi, durood shareed, 4 qul aur jo jo b ata tha sab parh lia aur gari chalana shuru ki... kalu stayed behind me just for in case of emergency... as we started we saw what we covered at night and how much risk we took which was not so good, roads were narrow, sharp curves, bad road and what not... ab jese hi pehli utarai ayi maine gari bilkul dead slow kr k gari 1st gear mai daal k chordi, now as it went down engine's rpm was creeping gradually aur jab tak rpm 2,3k qareeb hota tou utrai khatam hojati hai engine was back on idle, now that was very well, car taking care of itself very nicely ! i kept on doing the same on every slope. i was doing it very very slow so kalu got irritated and over took me, anyways i was not worried much now as all was going well ALHUMDULILLAH
kuch shadeed utrai pe engine's rpm used to max out at 4k aur uss se ooper nai jata tha like speed was locked and as diesel as short gear ratios so speed at 4k rpm was also very much controllable.
just before khawal pass i felt there is something touching the ground so i stopped the car and inspected, the tie clip holding hid ballast had broken so it was hanging, luckily i found some shuttering wire where i stopped, i picked it, went under the car tied the ballast properly and continued the journey.
aise kartay kartay major 18kms wali utari cover up hogai bhot asani se ALLAH ka shukar aur agay rasta bilkul asaan aur seedha seedha sa tha sirf pathrila road tha uptil wahi pindi.
