Overseas Pakistanis (filers) buying car in Pakistan

Hi everyone. I was curious to know whether Pakistanis living/studying in Canada/USA who are also filers in Pakistan buy cars in Pakistan while they are still in Canada/USA?
I am a filer studying in Canada, can my dad act as an agent and buy the car on my behalf? Or would I need to be present in Pakistan to purchase it?
