When every other person can afford a car or bike.... And when these people have no road sense, and they don't even bother to give a damn to read about the rules of the roads... And the government is here to make a quick buck (car leasing and stuff)...

A good step by ITP to aware people regarding lane discipline, the fast lane is not completely blocked, these cones are placed after intervals soo that no one cant use fast lane continuously.

Nonsense Behavior of ITP.. For them ISLAMABAD only start from Airport choke till zero point ?
For Ambulance.... PIMPS is far away from zero point ..
They have to educated their self why they remove it when traffic blocks & hide them self under tree (TA KY LAAN TAAN NA HO)

Its so annoying if you are not a permanent resident of islamabad..like you are overtaking someone nd suddenly a cone appears nd yu have to get dead slow :x
The difference i have seen between the last time nd this time is that people have started driving zig zag md have started overtaking from left side

Decision of ITP is towards good

I am a regular commuter of this road, believe me people are driving with 120-130 Km/h on this road and they never care about any warning. This road is actually between a densely populated area where people tend to cross the road despite overhead bridges. I believe this is temporary solution and it will educate people. Max speed limit is 65 km inside Islamabad and no one cares even 70CC bikes ..

islamabad has a highway issue , lahore has bike and riksha issue ... just adding some masala to the thread

Apart from this Traffic is too much disciplined in Islamabad as compared to any City in Pakistan
The story on Highway is bit different as people use them for speeding otherwise compare traffic traffic, surely it is organized ..

salaam to all. i think ITP has gone insane. first of all EMERGENCY LANE is always the outermost lane not innermost lane (overtaking lane) or say it fast lane. and second watever happens a road should never b blocked for any purpose whether its education or dharna a juloos or watever.
what i observed the outcomes till now....
1- accidents with the cone and barriers which lead to a complicated accident involving pedestrians sometime.
2- slow traffic and frequent jams.
3- the outermost 2 lanes made for HTV by our genius authorities, which were already used for crossing redlights, are now more crowded.
4- everybody tends to overtake from left.

ive heard about fines on motorway and gt road for constantly using the overtaking lane especially to HTV.
i want to add onething important.... traffic rules are never given importance in driving tests. only signs and driving skills are being tested properly. how much distance should b there btw your and vehicle in front of u? what is a differnce btw highway and motorway? these r sum of the questions which if answered shows true awareness to traffic laws but unfortunately are never asked in driving tests.

agreed.. i always enjoy driving in islamabad.. roads are better and traffic is surely better .. there are no rules and regulations followed in lahore , even the traffic police which was supposed to be good violates ... seen it myself - they take wrong u turns and braking red lights ... there's hardly any car in lahore without a dent driven regularly..,

i noticed barriers on jinnah avenue as well,they r placed so near,whats the use of that lane when u cant even use it to overtake n i dont think they would reflect at night which can cause accidents too

Good initiative , overtake and get in the middle line back, i have seen alot of people driving in overtaking lane and that too on slow speeds :/, no matter how much you honk them,dipper them they just don't switch lines, all they want to is to overtake other vehicles which are far ahead of them and this cycle continuous.

Today, Express way was blocked near airport chowk by Trucks. Traffic was going through khokhar road. Anyone knows what was the issue? I was lucky coz trucks were blocking road at that time and was able to take left turn towards air port and then took U turn for khokhar road.
