Overwriting of old engine number on new engine

There is sentro clube 2006 modle to which engine has been replaced with overwriting old engine number on new number engine. Please guide me that if I purchase this car and used 1 year could it be sold .

Wouldn't advise buying it, stamping the old engine number on a new one is an illegal practice undertaken by many.

People get away with it but it's best to buy a car with engine change that has been updated on the book. The only downside to the legal option is a fall in resale value.

This practice is done now a days .. if its done properly which takes same expense as getting a new number on book then it will work
otherwise it can become an issue

It is Illegal & if vehicle is impounded for forensics, release will be a serious legal battle.
Better option is endorsement over the registration book which is 100% legal peace of mind.
