If we have to make a comparison between aspire 1.5 manual and automatic transmission, then wt do u guys think? Kindly elaborate keeping the following points in view:
1. Fuel consumption
2. Features
3. Price
4. Value for mony

If someone wants to go for a brand new aspire 1.5, which one wd u guys recommend? Manual or automatic?

Both have their own pros and con's.

Auto wd take more fuel but piece of mind in heavy traffic in cities.

Manual has more power but your earlier concern with respect to higher rpm will remain. Auto takes lesser rpm due to something with gear ratios.

I heard manual aspire had better resale too.

Value for money is for manual coz auto is another 1.5 lac

Does anyone also have complaint against the gear shifting?

It is not smooth and someone was soo right that we need a sixth gear in it as well coz of higher RPMs.

However, it never disappointed me against any Auto Civic even ;D

Salam Everyone,

It was myself who posted in March regarding high RPM's and need for a sixth gear.
I'm surprised it has been picked up three months later, maybe we have more Aspire owners now.

I took the car to Honda at that stage, though they were a bit surprised at the PRM's as well. But did not find anything wrong upon attaching the car to a computer and taking a prolonged test drive, so we decided to leave it there and just live with the fact that the car drives with high RPM's.

I have been away for a couple of months now and Insha Allah will return to Lahore for Ramadan next week.
I'll post if the car is behaving any differently.
In the meanwhile it would be interesting to know if the RPM's on all the Aspires are high as recorded or is it a problem with a few selected cars.

^^ honda oem filter is iil based and it becomes black very early .... even 1000k
for il based filters its normal ......

My father checked for his corolla 1.6 about two days back. The actual tax is not finalized yet, however they claim it would be somewhere around Rs. 17,500. Aspire would be somewhere near to it.

Its quite a lot though !

Best is Honda genuine oil (green sticker gallon) it's by chevron.

Has anyone else noticed really fine horizontal scratches on the instrument protective plastic screen? They are seen over the fuel and rpm gauges. They are very fine and can't be captured easily?

They are on the outside and can be felt by moving a finger/ nail over it.

Any ideas if it is possible to polish em off with plastic polishes??

Really no idea. Though i was able to get rid of them; i used mcguire california gold scratch remover (yes its meant for paint finishes, but Google says it can be used) and they are now gone.
