Today i git my car OBD tool scanned and found a error Vehicle Speed Sensor error and dont know what is the problem the scanner person said get ur distributor changed is it worth or not.

and if the person said to remedy it with a distributor change - please move on the person has absolutely no idea what he/she is talking about.

btw - if the test was a live pull on a standing vehicle with no forwards or backwards drive, then its pretty normal to have no pulse - (its stopped)

This person scanned your OBD-1 vehicle and it spat out a P0500 code of no VSS pulse. WOW.. and told you that the distributor is bad SUPER WOOOW!

Where exactly did he hook up his scanner to and are you sure he was speaking from his mouth and not his behind?

1 - It seems that you are just trying to goof around

after 1996 they should use OBD2

he plugged the OBD tool To my passenger seats upside connector which was of two pin and used this tool and my car was swapped afterwards and used a OBD1 ECU....

the OBD-1 2 pin connector cannot push out a P0XXX code, it can only make the check engine light flash out codes.

And your car by default uses an OBD-1 ECU, Atlas Honda did not ever make an OBD-0 Honda in Pakistan

The above reader can only be used to interface with a 16 pin OBD port which is universally located underneath the steering wheel near the knees or in some very low slung cars behind a panel or behind the ashtray.

SER - the point to note is that his cheetah mechanic put this code reader to work on a 2 pin switch and it actually registered a code.. MAN - thats super slick

yarr he was also having a 16pin to 2pin connector converter.

And i got my car scanned by a Well known Computerized Shop and in sialkot it is the only one and from that day car had no problem till yet...............

You do know that the 2 pin connector is only a switching short - one pin is body ground and one pin goes to the ECU which when shorted (hence grounded) tells it to pulse 12V -ve to the Check light pin, this pulsing causes the light to flash and the "human reader" to count the flash sequence and conclude the number. That number corresponds to a coded error. In your case a VSS signal missing/out of range would be 17

The pin going to the ECU does not have any sort of digital signal or even an analog pulsed signal.... Its very very fishy by any stretch of the imagination.

Talk about rip offs - I wonder how many of his kind exist in Pakistan, can you share the name of the shop here so people dont ever go there.
