Yes it is an exceedingly complex system (obviously) but it is possible to reverse engineer every chip and every micro processor (even if it is something in encrypted form). Its only that we might not have the means to do so .
And Americans are the pioneers in Reverse engineering (thet led to the development of their ballistic missile system using the technology of Germen V2 rockets).
You are right that Pakistan cannot copy the codes of an f-16 BUT only due to its lack of facilities not because its not possible (in my opinion ofcourse).

You make a good point. Of course ALL nations, including USA reverse engineer all sorts of industrial and military products.

I agree with you that given enough resources, expertise and time, it is possible to duplicate the software present in an F-16 (or any other similar warplane), and I think that you agree with me that it is beyond Pakistan's capabilities.

Of course they do, I agree.

However, it is important to realize that the software and the secure workstation that creates the files on the DTC that are transferred to the plane are the key pieces of equipment, the inner workings of which are not open to the end user at all.

The several MB to several GB of data and code transferred to the plane before each flight has many uses, both overt and covert.

The pilots are masters at using the overt data by virtue of their training and expertise. I have never doubted that. All the covert operations of the millions of lines of code and their operational effect, however, are outside their purview by design, oversight and contractual safeguards.

I don't think that any of those persons will tell you the truth because that would be like CIA telling the world that Osama Bin Laden is CIA's man. You know that is explosive, USA won't need to change the codes anymore. Pakistani public would be enough to ground them.

VCheng still has not answered me why could we still fly our F-16s WITHOUT any operational problems after sanctions that too in combat missions aswell. Why didnt the US blocked the codes back then. It is because PAF had those codes ready and built in software packages. Those codes are donnot hold any significance in vipers operational capability nor Pilots have any concern with it.

Its just a software which is pre-installed on every F-16 and doesnt need any renewing other then if some alterations are made to weapons system or EW suite.

Its not new to me.
Air Marshal Shahid Latif was to be appointed the CAS due to his seniority and experience. After all he was the second pilot to touch down the viper on Pakistani soil.

But then AM Rao was elected and AM Shahid Latif gave resignation which wasnt accepted by the high command. Afterwords the out going Vice Chief of Air Staff was again appointed as VCAS for certain months to assist Rao Qamar in managing certain affairs of PAF as he was incapable to do so. Thus it was one of the most tragic incidences ever faced by PAF's High command.

Tidbit: Rao Qamar Suleman's brother is a "cabinet" member of PPP.
