IF there is such a 'kill switch' present in the F-16s why do you think professional or retired pilots would know about it? as it is electronics and even if they did, why would they tell you? when they know that this information will spread out

His views arn't exactly unfounded. US is indeed way more superior. If we Pakistani's were so good at cracking electronic codes or mechanics or any other technical fields, we wouldn't have needed to rely on US for spares/updates

Lolz. Its about time Sir. Just confirmed from a Retired Group Captain who happens to be my uncle [Currently at SPS-11 post, serving in AWC, Wah Cantt]

He READ the whole discussion literally and was laughing at certain posts especially of your's sir [VCheng]

There are two confusions which are currently making everyone go crazy.

The first one is regarding "codes" which are required to "navigate" the F-16. Its a total nonsense that we need to beg US for them or they hold any significance in F-16s operational procedures, the whole program is designed as a package which can install and execute different maps and navigational plugins. There is a long list of some sort of "codes" which are transferred to PAF and PAF itself regenerates those [codes] afterwards according to the mission planning softwares supplied to us by Lockheed Martin. And let me add, US cannot create any malfunctioning in those codes.

The second one is regarding "kill switches". Again a nonsense spread by some Anti-American sentiments present in our circle. If there was even a little truth in this BS then PAF wouldn't be spoiling its $5 Billion in this deal.

Last but not the least, US doesn't need to do all this hard work, their hardware is enough to jam our F-16s [ie. Digital Radio Frequency Monitor (DRFM]. So Sir, you shouldn't worry about the "mother ship" getting attacked or facing threat from our handful of F-16s which US is thinking of retiring sooner or later.

The simple matter of fact is, professional and retired PAF pilots know more then any of us here. Some officers who actually saw all this discussion literally had a grin on their face and were surprised that some bunch of gear heads are actually busy in explaining operational mechanism of F-16.

As for they not telling me, even if they are not telling me then how can we expect the information of VCheng to be authentic from any angle? Only because he posted some drawing key's of F-16s avionics system? Give me a break!

To think that a computer needed to generate the codes is enough to ensure that the US government had no hand is influencing the software supplied by Lockheed Martin is the epitome of naivete.

A pilot is like a truck driver and has no knowledge of the real power of the software in a modern day fighter jet. To exclude "mere gearheads" as being incapable of understanding this at an intelligent level merely reeks of abject, unjustified arrogance.

At first, there were no codes. Now the codes don't matter. Riiiiiight!

PS: Note that no-one (including senior defense analysts and retired personnel) even dared challenge the authenticity of the content that I posted!

I think the parts that indicate what I am saying are self evident if one reads the pages in their entirety. If you don't see that, then what can I add that you would accept? I have nothing further to add at this point. (That is NOT a DoD document BTW.)

I will reiterate, a pilot has only an incomplete understanding of the millions of lines of software code that he happens to be flying. Indeed, no one person has that knowledge.

The bottom line is that a propietary closed computer system generates a Data Transfer Cartridge with multiple classified files that are uploaded before each flight.

Unless PAF has written all the code itself to generate the DTC with full understanding of what all that code does to the plane while flying, which it has not, and can not do, my point stands.
