After 28 years of service, Paksitan Air Force formally retired A-5C Fantans on 18th March. A-5 was a Chinese made visual day attack aircraft capable of carrying short range heat guided missiles, free fall bombs and rockets. A-5 was a modified version of F-6 (Mig-19) with a nose cone and an attack computer.
PAF had 55 of these types distributed in two squadrons (No.16 and No.26) based at Peshawar AFB which are now getting equipped with state of the art JF-17s.
