In theory,, you are correct,,, practically,,, given our mechanics,,, welding equipment, knowledge of metallurgy,,, you are not

If you want to cherish something you built by driving it on Mall at 60km/h and take it back to workshop every now an then, I have no issues as I have a Kaikra too,,, but when it comes to reliability on family trips,,, atleast I would not take a chance on Jugaaar

SK has been my second seater once in Evo,,, he knows how it has to be thrown around to get the 2nd position maximum,,,he was screaming the whole couple of minutes episode, and trust me i am not talking about beating Nadir Bhai as i never managed to do that till date

We don't know of any conversions out here which have ever worked....

And certainly there is no jugaar anywheer in the world which has won anything or any worth....

The amount of knowledge and experience shared in this one thread of pakwheels is more than all of the threads in whole forum. I would say thanx to anyone who compelled these legendary rally drivers to share there experience regarding conversions.

You hit the nail on the head, with a sledgehammer. I agree 99%. The 1% disagreement is due to the fact that there is equipment, materials and knowledge available that mostly everything that can be done in the developed world, can be done here.

You might ask why don't we see more of these "good" conversions? Willingness to pay the price for quality. What do you think the gearbox-transfer case adaptor cost? (the one I shared photos of earlier)

Ummm i see no conflict here , this is just common rally crowd banter who along with fiddling with their rigs for the heck of it also love to pull each others legs (and pants down) in true paki style :). i wouldn't change it for one bit.

On a serious note....6G74 DOHC.
Kick *** power.......and two butt kicks for the measly 193hp 5VZ!

The SOHC 6G74 spec wise almost the same as the 5vz... but at 85k nowadays the 5vz is excellent bang for the buck, ditch the cats, improve the intake and you cross 200 horses... plenty in my books. Just dont put it in a jero. yota and mitsu dont mix well together...

There might be a possibility of using the 5VZ with a Mitsu, and that's mixing and matching bellhousings to the Auto trannies. Mitsu and Toyota A/Ts are shared over quite a few models. Aisin-Warner supplied them.

By now, there are enough local jugars involved on the Tundra to match the Concordia, the rear suspension fitting by my "barati" squad being just one case in point. You can add to the list of your "below the belt" swings by saying that it never wins either, but time will inshallah tell otherwise.

And Shabab's experience and verdict on conversions back in the day when his Nissan was converted was not any different from Saidhi's after the Kaikra experience. Nevertheless, the fact remains that the vehicle Qasim had to beat this year for the A podium (to the best of my knowledge) still runs the original conversion done by my beeping baratis. And today after all khawari included the Safari below costs a fraction of the "genuine car" of similar spec and is much cheaper to maintain.

All said and done, my problem perhaps is that me and my family have been dealing with conversions since perhaps even most of the knowledgeable people on this forum did not know how to put on the 4x4 on the SUVs. My level of confidence in dealing with conversions is different from that of others, but to think that I am exceptionally talented or have superior attention to detail is obviously not true. Furthermore, to think that my "baratis" put more effort into my cars than they do for their other customers would be a fallacy too. Yes, I may have developed my management skills somewhat but that comes naturally if you do any chit for a long time. I will admit that the Concordia program was launched with two intentions in mind (i) to prove that conversions and jugars work and deserve respect (ii) to slash down the cost aspects of rally racing which in all respects is a very expensive and thus exclusive sport. This year in Cholistan for us was by far the most gratifying and rewarding experience for which we are truly thankful for Almighty Allah in all respects. The complete story remains untold out here, but for the discerning and objective enthusiasts not much is needed to be said.
