Pajero 2001 Gear Issue

I have a Pajero third generation, 2001 model, DID 3200.

Gear shifting is giving me problem. The Second Gear is stuck since yesterday. In Drive, it is not shifting to any other gear.

Can anyone share the reason and potential solutions please

Your tcu has locked the shifting program due to some electronic failure

Connect a scan tool that can read mitsubishi tcu etc and rectify accordingly

shouldn't the D light be blinking as well ?

Not on mitsubishi, they have a separate yellow check light for AT literally saying AT or A/T or have the gear shaped symbol.

There are no other indications, like check light or any other yellow light. When I engage gear Drive, it goes directly to 2nd gear and stays there

I have attached obd-pro scanner and it says everything is okay.

Any way forward?

does your scanner dig into all modules on your vehicle? your truck has control modules for

1 Engine
2 Transmission and 4x4
3 HVAC
4 body (locks, windows, lights etc)
5 Security
6 ABS/VSC

regular low cost DIY obd scanners only interrogate the engine control module - you need a much more deep level scan too which are not in cheap price range. Take it to a workshop who are not "kabuli part lagao aur namaz parho" type - but people who are actually knowledgeable.

Yes, the scanner was of advanced level snd did check all.

In workshop, Gearbox was checked and a grip was found detached. It is fixed today.

as i said it was electronic failure.

and only a handful of scanners can do deep level scans on older mitsubishi.
