Pajero = 3500 V6

through this forum i would like to ask a question....

i am planning to buy Pajero 1996 3500 V6 petrol. its amnesty cleared in 2019. Asking price is 26 Lakh.

can someone please guide me if its worth it? shall i buy it as family car? What about resale?

few months ago the court issued order to release the vehicles which were imported under an amnesty scheme. now those cars have been sold at above market prices. The bargain owner says that its due to dollor fluctuation. we have seen many people buying these custom cleared vehicles in Peshawar and Islamabad.

they were imported when the govt announced amnesty schemes few years back. but they court issue a stay order. now on the basis of court judgement, the vehicles are allowed to be sold.

Yes brother. i saw on different car selling websites. but the bargain owners say that as the dolor has risen and bcoz these were imported directly from Japan, therefore there prices are high.

walk away. such old V6 engine are high milage vehicles with no trace of maintenance.

@homeboy being surgically precise is suffering from 10 degree temperature variation and engine is HOT, getting 6km/litre and most likely heads will come off for head gaskit replacement .

its imported few years back (i dont know the exact year). Cleared in December 18 or Jan 19.
when i checked reviews on PAK WHEELS it says the DOHC V6 engine is reliable. and mileage is 8KM/L.
i love Jeeps but never bought one. When i saw this Pajero it was like totally genuine and was very cool. so i thought to get advice from experts before i make any move.

Sir. 2 million is a way too high price of 1996 Pajero. If I am not mistaken it's GDI version. I don't have any experice with GDIs but know people and have read alot of the issues you may face.
The most common and irritating issue is of fuel pump. it starts to give one trouble because of slight bad quality of petrol , which is a common phenomenon in Pakistan.
The non GDI 3500 cc version is better ( as far as I have read).
You may get an excellent 92 to 94 vehicle which a complete fresh shell replacenent for under 2million and that too with Bill of lading.

I have 3.5 DHOC engine and its consumption is never more tha n 5.8 in city traffic on long route it goes till 8/9.Saying it gives 8 in city nis not understood .
