Pajero Chassis & Vin Plate related Query

Hello All,
I am searching for a generation 2 Pajero. But i am getting into a confusion when i am seeing the chassis plate of different pajeros. For example i am attaching chassis plate of two pajeros. Both are generation 2 pajero models.

The basic difference between these two plates is that one contains chassis number while the other doesnt has.

At first i thought the one without chassis number could be a fake one but i have seen it in 2 to 3 different pajeros. Can anyone provide some info that why the chassis number is missing in one of the image.

Is it safe to buy such vehicles which has plates similar to first image(missing chassis no.).

Thanks @thetigerzzz for your quick reply. I know that chassis number is written on the frame as mentioned in the image you attached. My basic concern was that why there are two different types of VIN plates even for pajero of same models.

Also my previous understanding was that i always match the chassis number written on the VIN plates with the chassis number written on frame. And when i start seeing pajeros without chassis number on VIN plates my initial thoughts are that they are somehow fake plates.

Yup there are different formats. My question is how to interprate the VIN number given on the pic. I have the same model as well. The number should be 17 digit to qualify for VIN. Dint know which 17 are exactly to interprate

@ras719 as far as i know none of the above image contains the VIN number, they are Chassis number, Model Number and other specific details... Again as of my limited knowledge these chassis plates are of pajeros when 17 digits VIN number was not introduced for Pajero.

@a.zafar from my point of view that is not the case. Because I have 1990 registered 3 door pajero. The chasis number on it is 17 digits. Similarly the 17 digit VIN or Chasis number is mentioned on the registration book.

@ras719 thanks for correcting my knowledge...just one question the 17 digit VIN is located on the VIN/Chassis plate or is it punched on the frame/chassis?

You are welcome, This is my observation it can be converted in knowledge if some body else second my observation. Here is the confusion which i also asked in my second last post. In some cases only chaisis number or serial number is written on the frame i.e in mistri language it is on godda . The VIN/ Chasis plate known as biscuit in mistri language. The biscuit dont have any legal value and can be altered easily whereas the godda thing is of legal importance if altered can be caught by forensic lab test.
I know the above information is not exactly the answer of your question. In short the values on godda and biscuit should be same even if they are not 17 digits.

Let me rephrase my question is the information on your pajero is similar to the images posted in this thread or is it has any 17 digit number on chassis(godda) and VIN plate(biscuit)?

@ras719 a bit confused here because the 1st Image(Vin/Biscuit Plate), 2nd Image(Vin/Biscuit Plate) and 3rd Image(Chassis Number/Godda)

If its the 2nd Image(Vin/Biscuit Plate) and if you share the info i think i may be able to help you decode some of the info.

both vin plates are original. basic difference is that the recondition pajeros also knowns as MMC/domestic which were imported later have chassis number on the vin plate also and the local pajeros imported by world wide or mitsubishi company etc had chassis numbers only engraved on the chassis

A bit of the topic question. Can you swap generation 1 pajero body with second generation one? Is that legal? If no then how to legalize it? if yes than What will be the expense to legalize it. I have 1990 registration vehicle with second generation body. I am confused either this vehicle is legal or not. The godda is original.
