Assalamoalikum everyone,

I created a new thread with my queries about mini but after that I found this wonderful thread, I will ask my further queries here.

My question is what is the reliability of Mini when engine is swapped from 660cc to 1100cc ? I don't want endless mechanic trips that is why I am asking that is it safe and good to put a 1100cc engine in mini.

I must tell you why I am planning to change the engine, my mini has 660cc turbo intercooler engine with auto trans. The problem is that the engine has been opened two times, one because of timing belt failure (the valves wasted) and the second because of gaskit failure on highway (karachi to hyderabad trip). Now it heat up too much specially in summer, it easily go above the half with AC and also I feel it too hard to take the pickup with AC on. Please note that I am not using CNG so it should work good on petrol but it is not working well. I have shown it to mechanics, serviced the radiator, coolant, tuning etc but nothing changed. I think the engine has lived its life and I am not willing to open it again. Its better that I swap the engine with 1100cc engine, but I need your advice on its reliability after changing and how is the performance etc.

Ali bhai helped me out with what parts I need to change for complete swap but I also appreciate if someone tell me afterwards reliability and potential problems that I can face.

Guys,

I got Mitsubishi Mini Pajero Automatic EFI Petrol Turbo Model 2000. The check engine light is on and RPM is very unstable, I mean first car starts on normal RPM, during the drive, suddenly check engine light gets on and RPM goes high and after few minutes check engine light get off and RPMs goes dead low and the car gets shut. Also some time its giving problem in starting and its like no petrol OR current is not going to engine but its starts after 8-9 switches.

May be both problems are ocurring for same reason or different reasons are there. I went to 2-3 experienced mechanics but it seems like they cant handle it as they got scared when they see Mini Pajero arriving, really!

I am in Karachi but new in Karachi, PLEASE advice me to WHOM should I go? I went to Tariq Road computer checkup shop but the guy rather than telling me a real problem, start insisting to sale my Pajero to him less than 100k as per market price.

Please help me WITH name, address, location or phone number of the good workshop in Karachi as I m new here!

@alizzz79hello i want to buy mini pajero what is the price of 1100 cc and 660 cc ,and what about spear parts ?and are these available easily in the market? which is the best model in pak?and with cng it is reliable or good with petrol?hope i ll be guided very well .one thing more which is the best auto or manual and what about for long drive ..thanks:S

I was a fan of pajero jr since last two years but now I have purchased it from pakwheels just a week ago after a lot of search. Its my first 4x4 ever. I'll post the pics soon. Its totally genuine but needs to change the tyres. Some minor works are also required, but overall the ride is gr8. I want to know about some good mechanic in pindi or isb. pliz help me in this regard. thanx in advance.

salaam all i just recently bought a mini pajero crystal light one. i noticed some wierd shifting with gears wen im driving smoothly n come to a uphil i push the accellerator down but doesnt downshift why is that. i hjav to put on to 2 to make it move. ill post sum pics of it later on

Dude i got a 2009 city parked at home and yet i prefer my mini on long routes... that should give u an idea of how much fun it is travelling in this lil monster. Its a tough lil ***** and it does die on u no matter what u put it through and believe me i have put it through a lot... as for ur request of my adventure experiences... lemme get back to u soon with some pics and vids

In response to posts mentioning problem with their Mini or Jr mostly users are advised to get their car computer checked.

My question is do we have any good Computer check workshops in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Abbottabad and Mirpur AJK.

I am currently thinking to buy a Mini/Jr but would like to know about the repair services available in the cities quoted above.
