I have a Pajero 2.8 version which is Diesel variant coupled with an AT transmission, the issue is in gear "D" the car isn't shifting into 5th gear even though the RPM is almost at 3000.
Once mechanic advised me that he will go with me on a long router and we'll recreate the same scenario and he'll check it on spot and fix it, another one said it's an electronic fault.
Sharing this issue here so I can get a much more better answer from other Pajero owners that might have faced this difficulty and what steps they took to get this resolved.
