The people who think Pajero is better than Parado because it has a history of winning Dakkar alot of times the thing is Pajero Evo that is being used in Dakkar rally does not even have a single mechanical thing common with the stock production Pajero/Montero sold in the market. As far as the comparision of Engines is concerned though in some cases Mitsubishi engines have more power on paper but in real time drive situation Parados feel more powerful having more grunt due to their power and torque tunning to be delivered at low RPMs.
The only area where Pajero is a little better than Parado is its highway drive which is due to its Monocoque body and IRS(independant Rare Suspension) and a steering with a better weight. However calling it more comfortable than Parado is baseless, Parado has batter seating position for all passengers more leg room at front and back than Pajero, body roll in both these SUVs is almost the same and Parado has a better approach as well as exit angles.
The rest it depends on personal choices of individuals as far as my preference is concerned I would prefer Toyota Surf or 4runner over both of these SUVs anyday.
