I wouldn't compare the Pajero with the Safari. That scenario would be comparison between a Horse and a Bull. Each excel in its own criteria
Prado vs Pajero, Safari vs Land Cruiser. That makes for a good debate.
But just for your asking.
The Nissan is the old fashioned brute, cumbersome and hectic in our 20th century infrastructure. It commands the road with its menacing size and old fashioned looks, a dream to drive on the highway and a great tourer. Not so practical for your average school days and trips to Khaadi.
The Pajero has practicality bred into its bones. Its just about the right size, drives like a Honda and yet is very easy to off-road. But it lacks the ruggedness of a proper 4x4 vehicle. In actuality it is the best of all worlds which makes a wonderful piece of machinery if you come to accept it as stated above. I was warned off by almost everyone i know "oh bhai pajaro na lena, bohat tung kartee hai".
My experience was quite the contrary. I didn't hit any snags out of the usual and just came to adore it.
If i hit 50 years of age, i would take a Pajero in a heart beat. Its just more practical than anything out there. Prado/Surf people might beg to differ. Great family car and mid-size tourer. But for now at 27 i still can't get rid of my affair with the Nissan.
As they say 4x4 nuts don't have mistresses, they have a old and clunky 4x4 for that.
