Gdi is an addiction, once you get into it, you keep wanting more. Even when it goes bad, you will be so addicted that you would constantly throw money at it just so you can have a week or two of heaven. Temptation is one thing, going down that road is another. Since you are so tempted, I would suggest that you first learn about its maintenance, see what usually goes wrong, and see if it can be prevented, once you achieve this knowledge, you can be one that can run a gdi. It's not impossible, a bit expensive but doable. Only undertake this when you have a spare vehicle which can do the day to day things when this goes wrong. This will be interesting. Take good care of it, and the gdi will last a long time. if you take it to the mechanics and ask them to diagnose, then you will in for a ride... Again, only do this if you are confident enough to handle it, can afford the extra maintenance, this is an addiction, letting it go would be like quitting drinking
