Mine was Dual AC Gen 2.5. Sourced compressor from Bilal Gunj for 12k. Keeping in mind that you have access to Rawalpindis scrapyards and require a very basic single stage compressor for a very common engine, it shouldn't be above 7-8k. But that just a guess.

Can i fix dual AC in gen 1? It ll surely engance cooling .right?

I'm not sure if Gen 1 came with Dual AC. No experience with it to be honest and if it did and to convert, i'd highly recommend you get rid of that notion. Not something an average "AC wala" can do. It is most likely to breed problems than benefits from my experience.

The Turbocharged L series share the same infamous reputation as the Mitsubishi 4M40T. And for a good reason. Toyota engineers simply decided to slap a turbo on a engine which wasn't designed to be turbocharged. This was done to fill the power gap back in the day.
Almost every vehicle with a L Turbo engine i have come across has a history with overheating and somehow most of them are clunking around workshops in the summer.

It is wiser to go for the newer KZ series as it has bullet proof reputation or look for a vehicle with a Non-Turbo engine from the same era.

As for the Pajero Gen 2. Its a fantastic vehicle but somehow everyone i know who owned one usually has the same words on their tongue " Pajaro Gallay Per Jatee Hai, Bohat Mushkill Say Jaan Churaee". My experience on the other hand was quite different. I enjoyed every bit of it and for a 4x4 it certainly drives and handles much better than the massive tourers (LC, Patrol. Etc). And certainly no wobbly lumpy rolls for what Prado J90s and J70s are famous for.

I'd say its more a matter of choice than what is what. Toyota's sell. No lying about that. They are like cash in the pocket. Not much fun to drive though. Pajero is still a mystery after all these years. Mechanics don't know what to do with it. Owner are frustrated and confused. Market is mixed and slow but it certainly is a fun thing to drive.

Just my 2 cents.

The gen 2 is a nice vehicle but nothing outstanding, used quite a few of them. Nice but not outstanding, I would choose a y60 over that any day but that's personal preference. The above fellow needs a vehicle for max 2 Months and then sell it. For him to purchase an extraordinary pajero, will take extraordinary funds, then selling that thing after 2 months, a hassle like no other. That is why I suggested that he go to Toyota

Well I don't know of an all in one, but I know one who is best at diagnosis, he charges an arm and a leg. And I know one who works very well and is reasonable priced, I usually juggle between the two, yours is a gen1?

Take it to darwaish autos in chor chowk if you want good work done at a reasonable rate. If you want a jeep specific mechanic, go to umar ustaz besides the alfalah building on Peshawar road
