Prototype would've been for something real in the pipeline. For now, this is just a concept for a car show. It looks great though with the fender extending as the bumper and all. I also like these very recent teaser images released by Suzuki which purportedly hint at a new Swift or Jimny design.

I think Suzuki failed in the small/compact Sedan sector is because they never wanted to take the risk. They probably thought their brand image did not have the Luxury appeal (1.3 small sedans are a Luxury here for most) and people always related this sector to Honda or Toyota since they have been producing these cars since the early nineties. The features offered in base versions of Baleno and Liana were always better than what Honda and Toyota offered with City and Corolla base versions. Even then, Suzuki never posed a threat because we as people have a habbit of following the bandwagon, "Corolla Corolla hai, Honda Honda hai even if you have the desi tootis to manually pull up the windows."
If Suzuki can ensure their latest versions reach Pakistan within 1-1.5 years of being released worldwide, similar to Toyota and Honda, they may just hit success in the sedan sector.
Swift is pretty, practical and is a moderate success but some like me don't like the idea of buying something that has been rendered obsolete elsewhere and long been replaced. We all know Swift's design is the oldest around, engine the oldest being offered. The newer versions have addressed the major problems with swift namely rear leg room, Engine variety, fuel economy and to somewhat extent, the interior trim quality which is pathetic in our ancient version. A more sporty version has been added too. 1.2L diesel of the Swift offered in the UK had a claimed fuel consumption of 67-70 MPG (~28 KM per litre if my rough maths serves me right) when I checked years back and here we're happy with Swift that gives us 14-15 and of course doesn't have the torque of the diesel.
