I visited the Pak Suzuki showroom in Islamabad today. Swift appeared to be a downright disappointment. Its a disaster in waiting after Liana. The interior of the car sucks big time - gaudy plastics, cheap chromes, creaking seats. I felt like yelling a murder at the dashboard and a pathetic stereo. What pissed all the more that there is almost no leg room between the front and rear seats. The boot is also cramped for space. The overall impression is poor. The engine bay is full and no space is allowed even for minor repairs/tunnings. Imagine it has a DOHC engine and I shudder if the block is still that of Liana. My advice to the potential customers is to take the car with bag full of salt not just a pinch.

The price positioning is also bad at Rs.1.0M. I don't think, Swift is going to make any dent in the imported cars market in Pakistan especially Vitz. Pak Suzuki you got it wrong again.

I now believe more in my Vitz 2006 and relish the quality of its interior and exterior. Apart from the CVT transmission, great avionics, Vtec engine and almost soundproof cabin, what I love the most is the driving seat adjustable elevation. Beat that Pak Suzuki.

some coments frm my side

-yh kya 999 for Swift nd also the RXi... dat obviusly means Rxi has low quality.

-nadeem autos missed the new Indica color (a stupid purlish replica of Hondas Stone grey)

-but the car luks great in gery, red (maroon) nd white. they shud offer Tomato red as well.

-since ive seen the car, awl the new 2005+ Vitzes i c look crap to me. kasam se.

-i think 10 is okay for options as u get a standard Vitz (1 liter, abs, and 2 airbags, some have keyless entry some dont) 2009 model around 1.1 million.

-kash meire pass 10 lack pare hote i wud have booked one i realy wana have one.

-Quality compared to Liana. well not offering CNG is the main point, these waste spark system engines are failed on CNG due coils get short (santro, lancer, baleno, Liana)

-Japanese tires is also a plus point, (and now is the only pakassemble car not to have Pakistani tires)

-I still have to c the interior to comment on it.

-btw does it has retractable mirrors??

-last but not the least.
The options show a direct competition wid the Honda City. other than its a hatch back nd citys a sedan.

@ Murtaza,,,,,name any local car even at 1.5 million Rs that has air-bags,,,,,,,only civic is offering airbags and that too in the luxury model priced at approx 1.8 million Rs...........plz think before writing such things.......

I think considering the price of the idiot XLI ,GLI at somewhere 1.3 million Rs and the city,,,,,if swift is priced at 960k,,,,,,its a gift with a 1.3 litre engine........with very nice options and a complete car.

I think its a very nice package.

but bro xli gli and city are sedans and swift is hatch and people pefer sedans car not hatch and in this price people can get sedans like civic and xli and more but this hatch will be if i think 870,0000 manuel and auto 915.0000 thats price is healthy on there fitness not more than 10 lacks and now a days u know where pakistan going talaban bombing

its listed on their website 10 lakh for this piece of crap, wish it was with 1.0 litre in price bracket of 8 lakh ... it would had sold like hot cakes ... for 10 lakh i'd rather go for GLi / City atleast they come in "saloon" category but hey everyone have their own way of thinking, this would be popular among ricer boys who think every car is born to be reved like there is no tomorrow

i wouldn't mind it as a company car though!

^ u people are right, secondly as of prices of new cars, many people are opting for used cars.

Swift wud sell but jst like the Altis Corola or Vti oriel i.e extremly low sales only those people who want a brand new car. my personal survey (obviusly doesnt counts) but ive noticed that the cream of Pakistan prefers a brand new Cutlus over a Vitz but manny have shifted to VItz now mayb this is a chance to gain the lost market. but still this car wud obviusly face extremly low sales.

you missed out Nissan Sunny 1.6, Chevrolet Aveo 1.5, Chevrolet Optra 1.6.....all have abs and airbags...and Nissan Sunny 1.6 Super Saloon is cheaper than 1.3 GLi even with both abs and airbag. All three are very reliable cars. The local made Nissan Sunny comes also come with bridgestone tires. But its the "Resale" and "Brand Name" that matters here. As I stated before even if Swift came with a 10.5 lakh tag it would still sell well because its made by Paksuzuki.

cng is a very big factor in the sale response of this car.(the cars on display dont seem to have the CNG stickers)
people look for economy in small cars not performance
although i think cng will eventually finsih in a year or 2 in pk but still

P.S if i had 1.0 mil in pocket and was forced to buy a Suzuki vehicle i would had gone for Liana, better car in my opinion

yesterday i checked my friends dad's brand new sunny i found that car very good as compared to cowrolla
and still i think swift will sell it would be every higher middle class dream car

i sure agree that CNG is a big factor here...and then again Suzuki is the name so people will definitly go for it...considering cheap repairs and readily avail parts..all mind set
in my personal opinion...id go for 05+ vitz over this...cant say much but 1 things for sure,i dont think its drive is gona be comparable to vitz..vitz feels like a proper car with care to details...since its suzuki so i aint xpectin details
moreover..even for 1.3l hatch...10 is bit expensive..
still fingers crossed...although a big step from suzuki ...

y not going for some civic in 10k ...that will be old but way beter than this considering luxury

i dont think its gonna be hot favourite with higher middle class...could be middle class.....the higher middle mostly stick with imports or would rather opt for prev civic over the swift..and well they hate the tag SUZUKI ...for them its more about name
