Well i went to see the car today at Azim Motors in Blue Area not expecting much , however i was mistaken with my assumptions.
I was really impressed. Excellent driving position , comfortable seats , the car just felt solid like when you closed the door got a nice "thump". I didn't like the interior from what i had seen in pictures but it was pretty neat in person. Good quality as well , it "felt" superior to the City.
Fully loaded car , immobiliser , ABS with EBD , 4 speakers with a somewhat decent audio system, alloys , Bridgestone tyres , fog lamps. Once you buy it there isn't much you need to do with the car. Lets say you buy a City , you're going to have to change the tyres , get alloys , maybe 2 more speakers. Thats no biggie but all the better when no changes are needed.
Obviously the price is high , it should be priced around 7lak 50k to 8lak. However i would much rather buy this over an Xli or Gli or even a City. Have had 2 Citys in the last 5 years. I am getting much more for my money with this car , i really don't have much use for a bigger boot.
As far as rear leg room goes (an issue peple have brought up) , it really wasn't too bad. I set the drivers seat to a comfortable position for myself (i am around 5ft 9") and sat in the back , it wasn't like a living room but my legs werent touching the drivers seat either. The thing i didnt like in the back is that the arm rests and power window switches are set in an awkward postiton so that if you want to put the window up or down you have to move your arm towards your side (or move your arm "back).
Well after having a good look i was all but ready to book one , then of course like everything else in Pakistan , you have to take things with a not a pinch , but a sack full of salt.
"Booking is open only for companies or if you lease the car"
I was taken aback , what nonsense. However the guy was quite honest , he told me booking for all Suzuki cars has been closed apparently for a few months now. Is this true btw?
He went on to say that is because they were offering immediate delivery on all cars and of course now they need to create an artificial demand or some excuse to jack up prices.
Unfortunately once people hear that the booking times are like 2-3 months they are probably going to flock to the showrooms. I really don't understand how people's minds work over here.
