At last it is launched in pakistan (where as in th world it is launched in 2003), other wise we still have to buy 1992 shape cultus with altered engine of baleno..can any body tell me when they (Pak suzuki) are going to launch new Alto that is launched Internationally in 2004.Or we still have to bear the old altered alto with Sj410 engine..

Some one mentioned its HP around 80 + ? New city has 100 hp and looks bigger then this. Spending 1.0 plus for this hatchback, i would like to go for new city. At least i come into Honda Class with that VTech engine technology. It has same Liana`s engine which is already a failure. So why they have come up again with old technologies which are previously proven to be a disaster.

Price is too high definitely. It must be around 900 k, in replacement of Cultus. As it has no factory fitted CNG installed either.

"Swift S-obviusly-wid sum-things-lacking" is called the entry level Swift my friend... there's a reason they add an 'S' in front of that.. Secondly, those are Drive Away (on the road) prices, including dealer delivery and statutory charges (you dont have to pay a single cent on top of that)... Since the pakistani swift now costs a crazy 1.09 millions ex showroom - as one of the members has confirmed - its final on the road cost (including premium and all that crazy $hit) is going to be pushing the 1.25 million mark or thereabouts..

Thirdly, the base model Swift that you guys should be comparing PS Swift with, comes STANDARD with dual airbags and a bigger and more efficient 1.5L motor...

Fourthly, prices with which you guys are comparing that of the local swift's, attract import duties and tariff charges since they're imported, and NOT locally assembled..a locally assembled car SHOULD cost considerably less...

here is the standard specs sheet for the base model Swift...

bring all these factors into the equation, and PS is quite effectively rorting the credulous pakistani consumers...

price of mehran..? :S what mehran could you possibly get for around 100k in pakistan (thats what the price difference between the base AU model and that offered by PS turns out to be at the end)?? the PS swift costs almost 1.1 million ex-showroom... add all the incidental costs to it and its price will shoot into the 1.2 million territory...

and dude you didn't read my post properly I guess.. those swifts are imported.. they attract import duties and other tariff charges besides the usual on-road costs (dealer/statutory)... why are you even comparing prices of imported vehicles with those of the locally assembled ones?

If you really HAVE to compare prices, then compare them with those of the indian market where they actually assemble these cars... the price of top of the line SWift in india including AIRBAGS when translated into PKR turn out to be ~940k ex showroom... so what justification does Pak Suzuki have to charge 1100k for their basic model sans airbags??

please read the previus pages too i was actualy refering to wat he was comparing the Australian Swift S with the local one.

the local one is about 4.5 lacks cheaper there ones cost $18490, lacking some interior cosmetics, 2 airbags, and a 1.3 L engine rather then the 1.5L offered in Australian Swift.

the entry level swift doesnt has the alloys, fog lamps, etc...

SwiftS is the one we are geting.

^^Airbags are far more important than alloys and fog lamps. In some countries there are even low budget cars with manual windows but they have airbags and abs.
