Yes, they have to inform you first that Thai made oil filter is not available, so we are using Guard if customer or you allows to do so.
However there is no issues with Guard's filter, infact I prefer and is using from last 3 oil changes, no problem at all, preference is due to that Guard is a local company and making the best filters in Pakistan (only one local available with good quality), we and Suzuki normally use Guard oil filters in Mehran, Cultus, Alto's etc. etc.(company fitted as well) atleast it is original, for Thai made first of all it is very expensive as compared to Guard and who knows whether it is imported from Thailand or China and may be its quality is inferior even than Guard????
So as per my personal experience with different Suzuki Cars from last 12 years and with Wagon R as well, Guard is a good choice if not best in every aspect economy / performance, but change it on every oil change i.e. around at 4000km or max. 4500km's.
