Normally Defender engines are provided with manual engines. You have to get a Kabli engine for Discovery. Futtings are same

it would be better if you used a newer model rather than the red one in the picture. I would suggest getting a Defender 90 2004, hard top and get working on the lift kit, tyres, alloys and the bonnet.

My Dear Brother.
Keeping in view my experience, it is not possible to convert an older model to latest model. It would be appropriate if you go for restoration on same model or shape.
Bcoz if you restore it with latest shape, at the of the day you will end up nowhere.. It will eat a lot of money without any value.

If you want the newer look.. Buy an auctioned Defender 2003 onwards. It will cost you around 5 lacs.. Then even if you spend a million on it.. That will be worth to spend.

Hey guys!

I recently just moved into Lahore from Dubai and was looking to build a Land Rover Defender 110. I want to build my Land Rover just like the E.C.D Design Project Safari but I have no clue where to start. Before I can start the build and buy myself a Defender to begin, I need to make a full cost calculation.

The outer exterior & interior of the car will be just like the Project Safari, but rather than putting a LT4 or some high-performance Corvette engine like E.C D does I’m just going to put a Toyota Hilux 1GD-FTV Diesel Engine as they are more reliable and most mechanics in Pakistan know how to work on them, if something was to go wrong within one of our adventures. The rest of the car will be just like the E.C.D Project Safari as I will source all the parts directly from E.C.D in UK. Another change I am going to do is paint the car in British Racing Green. Lastly, rather than putting the suspension that is used by E.C.D, I am just going to put a KING suspension kit as I can see it is very popular here in Pakistan meaning parts availability is great.

The things I wanted to ask before I can get started:
1. Recommendations of Land Rover specialist mechanics who can do bespoke work on the interior.
2. Cost of a 1GD-FTV engine used or new.
3. A body shop that can do a good paint job in an oven or something, all the work needs to be tastefully & professionally done done.

Thanks to everyone who may be able to help me out and once I get this project started all keep the entire PakWheels forum updated with its progress. Also this build is going to be tastefully done so there isn’t going to be any ‘pendu’ work done too it!
