do not bank upon Pakistani diplomatic corps, unless you are politically connected & foreign office forwarded your details ahead of arrival. Pakistani embassies are worst when needed help by fellow countryman. even a Personal friend working at PK embassy will be 'on sick leave' or ' away on official business till next week' with cell phone off upon your arrival.

Yeh I know that. I am sure no one whom I know won't be on sick leave or away for some other reason. Else I will chase him to his grave . On a serious note I am not dependant on them as I wants this to be kept simple, purposeful and enjoyment.

Sorry guys for being dis-appeared for couple of days. Was on Sick leave. Flu hit be pretty hard from no-where and I was down for most of the last 48hours.

Things went in to a dead slow pace because of Eid break. Will be back after Eid. In Shaa Allah.

I am curious about carnet passage.for your vehicle...I have a similar trip in mind butI couldn't get much informatiom about carnet...please keep us posted.

I think carnet can be arranged from u.k, or any custom guru can guide . Important think is carnet will be issued against pakistan registered car, which I never heard before.

You will definitely be taking a GPS with you. If not, take one with all the necessary maps. I recommend Garmin as I have used the same in the middle east and Turkey. I have driven @ 4000 KMs within Turkey, with my family, not a slightest issue of security in the cities or on the intercity Highways. Good luck with your trip. Please keep posting your progress.

One can sponsor the trip "internationally" using this site, if funds are running short or you can't find the sponsors. I am sure people would be willing to pay for this since it's not everyday people travel half-way across the world on a car

The sponsors been almost arranged for the trip and we have good bit of funds to support the trip. There was one minor issue and that has been taken care of as well. All we need to do now is the legal requirements to be met.

Asked few people here n there to run a check on this. Some higher up in one of the agency told me that it shouldn't be a show stopper. Let's hope so.

If vehicles from other countries can enter Pakistan am sure ours can do the same.

Best of luck.
Though i would advice you to take the Prado instead of Vigo. Reason being that your route is gonna be really long and tiring and prado provides alot more comfort than vigo. Speaking that because of my own experience with both the vehicles. Furthermore, Prado is more spacious, one can easily sleep in the back cabin after folding the both rear rows of seats.

Take lots of Diesel fuel cans with you including a flare gun, a real gun for safety and some spears/arrows just in case you need them!
