Pakistani Origin Card (POC)

Could somebody please help me out here. I am a British national with a British passport. I also hold a Pakistani Origin Card although I do not hold a Pakistani Passport as yet.

My question is, am I able to import a vehicle from the UK to Pakistan using just my POC card or must I have a Pakistani passport in order to do this?

POC is a crap prduct...all you need is NICOP. it works the same way provided you can prove that are related to someone who is a pakistani (your parents or spouse)

The only thing not allowed on POC is casting a vote. Owning property and working / business are allowed. What else would anyone need?

i care about the voting part so that is one of the reasons plus...its cost is too high while NICOP is cheaper and quicker to get.

i assumed that you do have pakistani family but if you are someone who has a pakistan connection not in the last atleast one of two generations...than POC is the only choice.

Are there any members from the UK who may have exported a car to Pakistan who may be able to answer this question for me?

without pakistani passport you cannot export a car to pakistan,documents you need for export are,valid pakistani passport, pakistani id card or nicop card,valid uk driving licence,nicop card will cost you £10 and it will take 3 months or more.

@szuberi, my wife is the only Pakistani relative that I have now. But I got a POC for US $100 which is valid for 7 years and took me one week to get in Boston while the Pakistani consulate was in New York, so include courier time. Anyways, my kids can get the NICOP if that is better.

I dont think it would make sense for me to vote here, but thats another topic altogether.

According to new rules you can bring a vehicle to pakistan on your POC. Here is a link for new rules which clearly staes that either Pakistani Passport or Pakistan Origin Card is required.

Yes, you can take a car under personal baggage if you have lived for 180 days abroad and avail Transfer of Residence if you have completed 700 days during the last three years. Overseas Pakistanis holding Pakistan origin card are entitled to avail the facility.
