Every year, PakWheels.com conducts a comprehensive automobile industry survey to ascertain the choices, habits, and preferences of the consumers. This survey also helps compare and analyze new data with the old one. The survey provides valuable insights into the behaviors, preferences, and trends of the Pakistani automobile industry.
In the 2022 survey, the largest number of respondents belonged to Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad, with the major age group being of 18-22 years. Almost 98% of the respondents were male. The vast majority of the respondents, almost 79%, claimed that they owned locally assembled cars.
Based on this sample, PakWheels.com Industry Survey represented some interesting results.
Market Analysis
An overview of the market showed that Honda held the biggest market share in the Pakistani motorcycle industry that is 64%. Overall, Honda CG 125 is owned by the majority with a market share of 50%, followed by Honda CD 70 with 35% market share and then Yamaha 125 with 10% share.
The respondents were provided with different categories to vote for the bike of their choice, and Honda reigned supreme.
Best in Fuel Efficiency
The participants of the survey were asked to vote for the most fuel-efficient bike, and the majority voted for Honda CD 70!This category was also dominated by Honda CD 70 by a huge margin!Suzuki GS 150SE was nominated as the best bike in the category of environmental friendliness. This award was also taken by Suzuki GS 150SE despite strong competition from Honda CG 125!Yamaha YBR 125G was declared the bike with the highest value for money by the respondents.Yamaha YBR 125G won this award as well as the majority of the participants voted for it.Surprisingly, this category was dominated by Suzuki 110, which we were not expecting.Yamaha YBR 125G won its third award by winning in this category as well!This award was stolen by Honda CB 150F as the majority of the respondents voted for it.
Clearly, Honda swept the floor by taking away most of the awards while Suzuki and Yamaha gave close competition.
When asked about their brand preference for a new bike, 31% of participants voted for Honda.
