Every year, PakWheels.com conducts a comprehensive automobile industry survey to ascertain the choices, habits, and preferences of the consumers. This survey also helps compare and analyze new data with the old one. The survey provides valuable insights into the behaviors, preferences, and trends of the Pakistani automobile industry.
In the 2022 survey, the largest number of respondents belonged to Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad, with the major age group being of 18-22 years. Almost 98% of the respondents were male. The vast majority of the respondents, almost 79%, claimed that they owned locally assembled cars.
Based on this sample, PakWheels.com Industry Survey represented some interesting results.
Best in Category Awards
Best Exterior Design
The respondents voted Toyota Corolla the best exterior design in the Locally Assembled category and Vitz the best exterior design in the Imported category.Best Engine Power
The respondents voted Honda Civic to be the best in Engine Power in the Locally Assembled category and Vitz, again, in the Imported category.
Best in Cost of Ownership
Suzuki Cultus took the win in this class in the Locally Assembled category. Not surprisingly, Vitz won again in this class in the Imported category!
Best Interior Design
Honda Civic won the award for Best Interior Design in the Locally Assembled category. In the Imported category, you guessed it right, Vitz won the popular vote AGAIN!
Best in Environmental Friendliness
Suzuki Cultus took the award for the Best in Environmental Friendliness in the category of Locally Assembled Cars, while Vitz won this award as well in the Imported category.
Best in Comfort
The respondents voted Toyota Corolla to be the best in comfort in the locally assembled category. Vitz again won the award in this category as well!
Best Value for Money
Toyota Corolla won the award in this category as a Locally Assembled Vehicle, while Vitz won this award as an imported vehicle.
Best Interior Quality
The awards for Best Interior Quality were also won by Toyota Corolla in the Locally Assembled category and Vitz in the Imported category.
Best Fuel Efficiency
Toyota Corolla in the Locally Assembled category and Vitz in the Imported category also won the Best Fuel Efficiency award.
Best Resale Value
The respondents voted Suzuki Cultus to have the best resale value in the locally assembled category and Vitz in the Imported category.
Best Features and Accessories
Toyota Corolla won the Best Features and Accessories award in the Locally Assembled cars category, while Vitz won in the Imported category.
Best Safety
Toyota Corolla and Vitz swept the floor with this award as well in their respective categories.
Apart from these awards, the respondents were also asked to rate new and existing locally available brands for the provided criteria. This was done to gauge brand perception o these brands in the market.
Brand Perception
Value for Money
The participants ranked Toyota as the number one brand that provides value for money, followed by Honda and then Audi.
Brand Image
Toyota was again ranked the highest for its impeccable brand image, followed by Changan and then Honda. Changan being a new entry in the market, is a surprising choice here!
Quality
Toyota again took the first spot on the list, followed by Honda and then Suzuki.
It is clear that the Pakistani consumer market deems Toyota as an outstanding brand due to its value for money, quality, and design!
