Sharp decline in quality of Pakwheels content, recently with in old member of Pakwheels (outside forum) a discussion took place

We were all of the opinion that Pakwheels original soul (old members) all have lost interest in Forum because of pakwheels shifting their focus from enthusiast to tiktokers

Its mostly just now tiktokers showing of their cars having zero knowledge about their own cars with in videos Pakwheels logos on it

Why old members of the forum arent being used in video content? @Spano osama bhai from lahore (unable to tag him) type people? I know @xulfiqar and @capstan likes gems wont show up in videos but there are many others with good knowledge of cars that can give life back to this forum

There is another situation,

Can you gather even a dozen people that will appreciate and understand content with tech info in it? 2 out of the dozen will be eager rest would use it as “commode time pass”

Meaning, everyone wants video content with buzzwords of
Shortcut
This trick
“Guy pointing finger”
Cheap animations etc

I have been part of videos but all of them were tech and training content of discovering and repairing the issue (all of them aftermarket) - some were as interesting as a pile of dirt.

Me explaining how to clean an aluminum casting face like a cylinder head or timing case or rear case so that you dont remove material and have the right sealing surface without damage and within the shortest time.

No one from pw will be clicking on it, who wants to see a video of 2 guys explaining the boring process of cleaning while cam is pointed at the subject and im showing you how to damage stuff and how to not damage it.

Or measuring torque on a reused fastener. Explaining thread cleanup and showing cut outs of threaded pieces explaining how its causing the wrong torque, or why its important to seal threaded holes that are not blind. Etc etc.

Its quite boring, no chorus, no hook, no crescendo, just explaining of elementary physics at best.

What decline?! Quality doesn’t matter ~ the view count matters more for a business. Compare pakgear & pakwheels ~ the amount of effort pakgear’s editor puts into "quality" is demonic.

Now compare their view counts ~ when a girl appears on pakwheels vs any video of pakgear. Pakwheels view count will always be higher or similar. If the view count of pakwheels is consistently higher, that means the awam loves it ~ hence the content. That’s the thing ~ Pakistanis love to complain yet still watch that content, lmao.

Producing quality content takes time and effort - In short, it comes at the cost of time. Opportunity cost ~ that sums it up. Pumping out more videos is more beneficial for a business like pakwheels.

Doesn't make any sense?!? So suneel bhai making vids with tiktokers is what made the old users stop posting in these forums?!? The effect seems quite the opposite ~ they should have stopped watching those videos, but it stopped them from engaging in these forums ~ do these forums contain those tiktokers?!? Is that why it stopped them?! Please correct me if I'm wrong, sir. I bet those same users are still watching his content, lol.

Pakgear is awesome!! Their editor should literally be hired by Lamborghini to edit their ads!

And the guy actually tells us about stuff like the suspension setup of the car instead of "ye light he, ya chrome ki gaaaarnishhh he, ye front bumper he, ye grill he, ye steering he" and I won't be surprised if he continues like "aur is steeeering se gari chlai jati he". Like, no shit Sherlock!

He's demoning ~ hence 1 video in 3 months. Get it?!? Quality requires time. I’m a simpleton - sure, his editing is great and all - but I prefer simple vids with less angrezi. It’s just about personal preference ; the current youth loves pakgear.

I don’t have time to watch all the videos of pakwheels ~ I only watch the vids of cars I'm interested in, and that's all there is to it. Pakgear's vids are overly edited, which people love, but some users like myself prefer simple vids.

Looks like sir @saad0irfan is a huge fan, which is justified given the quality of their content. ( pakgear )

Yea, someone came into my shop ~ started talking about this. We were having a discussion about haval & he randomly started talking about "suneel ko haval ne sponsor kiya hai" & stuff. To say the least, I am not interested in such conversations.

This shift from text to video graphic content is inevitable. People want shortcut solutions, in less time. They have habit of scrolling videos all the time. No one want to read text anymore.
So the right thing would be to CHANGE. Mold this textual knowledge in the form of videos with some tarrka.
Otherwise I know many such forums, people have abandoned.

Priorities changes with time.
I am still in contact with more than 50 old PakWheelers who’ve left these forums decades ago.

Some of them has awesome car collections.
Some teach in Universities/college.
Some prepare the jeeps for racing/rally.
Some are settled outside PK but still intouch very well via whatsapp groups.
Some running their workshops.
And so on.

But I’ll accept that I got not only good friends, but really really good people from these forums. Really love them.

Baki bhai I am in contact with a lot of pw member who arent active on forum now because of new traffic from tiktok asking about or posting weird things only

I remember just some years back there was a ton of posting on pw I was a section mod as well (got removed from mod area after being inactive during platform change) I use to see many new threads daily now a days if I open forum there are hardly 1/2 new topics and most kf the time irrelevant to automotives

Emm Sir, I have not seen any such posts in these forums as of yet. But, there were some pakwheelers calling me terms like "khufiya agent" & "capsat" ~ that was weird.

Some users have lost interest and in the past some were blaming @Xulfiqar ~ They said "He's the reason people don't use these forums" ~ further said " he's rude & a badmash".

Ive been given death threats from these forums, members sending me DMs about such and reasoning that their actions were just and required because of various reasons including my full name..

Now back to the thread topic, over the years Ive put bits n bobs of information but in text form and only when I had some free time. All the information provided was done on a pro bono basis as knowledge sharing only, I understand that reading isnt in fashion anymore but if someone wants to use the written text and weave it into animated or motion content then they can.

Maybe a future project ~ once I'm free. I think Sir Saqib & his friends are doing a great job with their channel "Carnamay", but users 1000%% won't watch videos that are 50-60 mins long. I watch em, when I'm free.

I dont use twitter much, Ive been told a few times that Im rude but mostly by folks who were told they were wrong first (and I provided an explanation including correction of their wrongs) - I am asked to butter them with warm ghee and then feed them sugar and give them a participation trophy too.

To be honest none of those jive with me, I can work with a symbiosis but never a parasitic system.

btw - the death threats spiralled from me pointing out the other parties delusional wrong which could include that his supra is not a race car, or his honda civic is never going to outrun a true race car supported by actual teams. Just like you saw that I was an insect a few days ago.

Some even went down the spiral of actually trying to hunt down my location, just for me telling them they are effing idiots. (I think its the gangster and mafia mentality that runs deep)

Yea, stay away from that. I deleted it years ago ~ game devs used to receive death threats for not adding features/abilities the gaming community wanted. It's a complete sh*show. Ah man ! Good old d1 days.

Same issues as the XIM forums ~ we had a limiter where users had to make around 20-50 posts before they could start creating a topic. Best way to tackle this issue.
