Whats the price of 18-105 AFS VR, 18-120 AFS VR and 18-135 AFS VR for Nikon D5100 (DX) in local market? Which of these are best in 18-55 range? I am asking this; because I want to replace the 18-55 kit with any of the above. The 18-55 kit lens will trade in for ~10k (at the time of purchase only)

Should I replace; or should I add? Replace/Add with which of the above? And sorry for being so irritating...I still have couple of days till the shopping day

Nikon recently released AF-S version for 50mm f1.8 which can now auto-focus on entry level DSLRs of Nikon.

I am not expert really...but has done a bit khawari on the net and in market lately

• 550D and D5100 are better than D90
• D5100 has articulated LCD and has bigger buffer and better FPS for continous photography

Why 600D not in the list?

D90 - Obsolete - The replacement is the D7000
D5100 - The best in terms of imaging of the three - Has the D7000's sensor.
550D - The best in terms of video with full manual control and better frame rates.

Take your pick, if you are a videographer choose the 550D, otherwise if you are a photographer and would like excellent low light performance, choose the D5100.

Another vertonama of Burj Khalifa from my Dubai tour

I tried to fix the base but couldn't do so :S The original shot has level base but photo-merge created this angled base. Any ideas friends?

Edit: I fixed it by doing CCW image rotation of 2 degrees of all images above base + skew function.
Much better now

That's far to expensive. The actual price of the lens suggested by Nikon is $225 tops. Convert that and still that is lower.

but d5100 cant autofocus on non AF S lens while the d90 has an inbuilt focus motor plus better build quality more FPS on burst mode and better manual controls and top control display panel too only downside is its an old model but it was premium at the time i wonder how is the low light ISO performance is ? as the sensor is nearly the same size

Yes it cannot autofocus on old lenses but why do you need old lenses to begin with? They are noisy when focusing and don't focus as fast.

More FPS: Are you going to shoot sports always,? If yes then D90 is a candidate, otherwise not

Better manual controls: In video? No, it has even more limited control in video. From a photography standpoint, it may have one or two additional buttons but none that warrant buying.

Top control display: But it doesn't have a tilt screen like the D5100 and I know your last camera did and I think it is far more useful than that tiny old screen.

Premium at the time: Exactly, it WAS premium. Not anymore.

Low Light/Sensor Size: The sensor size is exactly the same, i.e APS-C. The one in the D5100 is better by many folds, the D90 cannot match the low light performance of the D5100, plus it has better dynamic range.

All this does not mean that the D90 cannot take great pictures, but why would you buy a discontinued model that is the same price as a new model and cannot perform as well?
