well it wont take any pictures without the memory card cuz the camera has no built in memory. will compare the overall performance thought

well i dunno much about it, can you guide me through it.

Recently Nikon has quality issues due to its Factory being flooded in Thailand so may be you got some of that Unit. As recently other persons also reporting of Nikon Quality issue so i hold up my purchase of D7000 for some days.

My Computer>Card>Properties>Hardware>Properties>Change Settings>Policies>Better Performance

I can't comment on the difficulty one faces while handling a DSLR as I haven't used one, but yes, P&S is as simple as it could be.
