nice photos I wanted to this to be all mine thread but its nice to see a lot of enthusiast Though i would like to see more of good photos of real high level macro modes rather than just good photosand i think one can take even better pictures with the D3000 (and other DSLRs) than the ones posted (absolutely no offense to the pictures as they are looking good)
I made this thread for the real macro modes, for example in momin's pictures i would have gone for the petals of the white flower, or the petal leaves of the yellow one, or just a couple of grains from the edge of the log, or just a couple of threads from the finger print, or mainly one round piece of the fruit (sorry forgot the name) or just the outer grain/skin of the almond ... I hope what i mean... so people bring more of this are let others be amazed
and please please please comment on my photographs as well

nice shot.
excellent pics
u can use flash instead to capture wingsmost speedguns flash for only 1/8000s or less
@ red_bull would you explain... me a bit confused
when u use the flashmain source of light is from flashthe duration for which the flash is fired, is what the camera captures, unless ambient light is very high ( direct sunlight for example )
so a flash with 1/4000 ~ 1/8000 flash cycle will act in similar fashion as high speed shutter.
posting some pics, hope OP doesn't mind me posting in his thread
