Macro photography is close-up photography. The classical definition is that the image projected on the "film plane" (i.e., film or a digital sensor) is close to the same size as the subject. On 35 mm film (for example), the lens is typically optimized to focus sharply on a small area approaching the size of the film frame (further details avail on wikipedia ... marco photography)

Yes the closeup of the mosquito is the best one on the thread so far BUT it definitely is a professional photographers photo and i think we should only keep this thread on photos taken by ones self. no others photos allowed. what do you say?

Dude, you need to loosen up and appreciate the work of others.

That picture IS taken by redbull...

If you don't like the pictures of others just say so and i'll delete them...

I never ever said that it is not taken by redbull and i just said that its a proper professional photograph... and i just wanted to confirm that this was taken by redbull himself... and i was also going to add an appreciation line in my question for redbull but stopped myself till it was actually confirmed.

I am all ok with everyone sharing there photos... just want to make sure that ppl dont start googling up and posting here for that will make this thread redundant and obsolete
