See. Your car seems totally fine. 82K engine life is nothing. Its like almost new engine. So I don’t recommend to go for engine overhaul too soon.
It seems the quality of the motor oil which you filled last time is highly questionable.
Now top it up with the same oil, and if you don’t have 10w-40 in spare and you have to buy the whole bottle of 10w-40 for the top up, then you can top it up with fully mineral oil like 20w-50 as best replacement. But this is temporary solution only.
Actually 10w-40 is way more thick oil for 1KR. Toyota’s recommends to use 0w-20 or 5w-20 for 1KR.
Hence for the next oil change, you only choose recommended oils. I heard good reviews’ about Caltex 0w-20 & ZIC’s 5w-20
For the white smoke concern, plz bear it for some time until your next oil change. Once you shift to 0w/5w-20 oil (original product), then you notice this oil reduction and white smoke again. I believe both issues will disappear. But make sure you buy original oils from authentic dealers.
But still if these issues are there, then first do the compression test. Most workshops do it for free. And check the compression values of all 3-cylinders. These values will tell either you should go for over haul or not.
