Every year, PakWheels.com conducts a comprehensive automobile industry survey to ascertain consumers' choices, habits, and preferences. This survey also helps compare and analyze new data with the old one. The survey provides valuable insights into the behaviors, preferences, and trends of the Pakistani automobile community.
The PakWheels Automobile Industry Survey 2022 gives us similar insights. With over 29,000 participants, the survey yielded exciting results reflecting the choices and opinions of Pakistani consumers.
Bike Riding Practices in Pakistan
Motorbike is Pakistan’s most favorite vehicle! In every house, there is at least one bike or more. Whether it’s an 8-year-old kid or an 80-year-old uncle, you will see all kinds of people riding bikes. Now, even girls can be seen riding motorbikes confidently on busy roads.
But a major issue is the poor practices of bike riding in Pakistan. You can easily spot bike riders without helmets on the roads. Kids who are clearly too young to have a license can also be seen riding bikes rashly. Bike-riding without owning a license is another major issue.
This is why we tried to find out what kind of bike-riding malpractices are prevalent in Pakistan.
PakWheels Automobile Survey 2022
This year’s PakWheels Automobile Survey 2022 aimed at finding out the habits of Pakistani bike riders.
We asked the respondents whether they drove a bike or not. 92.97% of them said that they ride a bike regularly. The interesting part was when the participants were asked whether they had a license or not. 49% of the participants said that they had a license. The rest of them - 43% - said that they did not have a license to ride a bike.
5% of the participants said their license had expired, and 2% said that they had lost their license at the time of filling out this survey.
This shows that almost half of the bike riders on Pakistani riders do not have a license to ride a bike. This is an alarmingly high number and poses a great threat to implementing proper driving practices in the country.
The respondents were also asked whether their bike was registered or not. 80% of the respondents said that their bike was registered in their own name, and 18% said that their bike was registered but in someone else’s name. While 2% said that their bike was not registered.
