Permissible %age when Selecting Wider Tyres

I will be getting wider tyres for my City 2010 Auto shortly. The stock size is 175/65-R15. If I select 195/60 R15 the speedo meter reading will be 1.1% too slower as compared to stock size and if I go for 185/65-R15 the speedometer reading will be 0.9 % too fast.
I have searched the net but I couldnt find max permissable % age variation. I intend sticking to stock rims.
Please advice.

Well in that case I am within the limits for both sizes. Hope going for 195 will not have too much effect on fuel consumption ?

I agree with u but somehow 175s look too narrow. Obviously I am not going from 175 to 205 or 225 but to me 195 seems fine. Hope I am correct and wont lose much ?

Yeah your totally right about that, almost every local car's tires look too narrow.
Well not much would be different with 195, i mean fuel consumption would increase a little, maybe the car will hit the inside panel during full turns, and the ride would stiffen a little, but in return you'll receive more grip on the road..
But for the look's its totally worth it, but i still would run my zero meter car a few k km's before this change....

SEE 195/65/15 and 225/40/17 on the stock size of 185/65/14 on that calculater.

theres difference between 2% to 6%.
only thing matter is profile of the tyre in 90% of the calculation.

Go for 185/60 R 15 that comes in stock Suzuki Swift. This is "the" ideal tyre for your car.

this is because the aspect ratio (or "profile") is a percentage of the width.

Also the tyre brand is more important then size.

Get a Michelin Primacy HP or Continental Premiumcontact 2.

I fully agree with the suggested size but only added fuel consumption is keeping me away.

I have shortlisted yokohama C drive.
how do u compare it with yr recommendations

I could not find a nice one in that size 205/55.

Fuel economy is solely dependent on your foot at the gas paddle, it has nothing to do with tyres (at least in Pakistan).

You can maybe get a 5% improvement from low resistance tyres, because you are in Islamabad with better roads then any other city, but at the expense of road holding and braking.

I am using 195/65 R15 in my Prosmatec Civic and fuel consumption is normal, 80Km (W A/C) in City 100km, 120km (A/C) 130km Highway, petrol 11km on Highway 9km in city with A/C.

You should also consider high quality imported forged/Aluminum alloys to keep the weight down at all corners.

I recommend a 205/60 R15, Michelin Primacy, Kumho KH11, Yokohama Decibel V550, Bidgestone Turanza ER30 or GR90.

If you can live with a little harsh ride and need sporty performance look at Dunlop SP Sports 9000 or SP Sports Maxx.

Thx for suggestions. I checked and found that Yoko C drive is not readily available so have to consider other options. Let me go through reviews of tires u have recommended. I have previously bought Bridgestone SF 370 and yokos 357, 539 and Aspec A300 in my previous cars therefore I feel more confident with Yokohamas.

i think if you will use the wider tyres then car warrently will void honda will not consider any warrenty claim if tyres are not as specifed in manual so be careful
