So basically when I walked out the showroom a couple of Suzuki Certfied Mehrans lay in the sun. I sat in the driver seat of one for the first time. It was tight, v. cheap looking but then I compared it woth a Wagon R. Other than 200 more CCs and lots more space I didn't find a single thing worth the extra 8 lacs! If you think Wagon R was worth it, lemme know why. Anyways I drove off without test driving. It was a good experience, maybe just because it was my first car.
Suzuki certifed should never be trusted. I paid a premium on a '18 Mehran 19k driven just to be sure it was a good buy but....They have a sheet on all cars that tells you which panel is sprayed or repaired. My car said none, both bumpers are painted and the driver door has been accidented for sure...the paint close to seals is sprayed...nothing major though. Anyways the car had alignment problems so I took it back to Suzuki after a week for balancing and alignment, it costed me 1200 and the problem reappeared in 2 days so really bad service center too. I have now realized the problem is a damaged steel wheel. Other then this dealership BS,I have absolutely loved the car. I have grown used to the tight space but against any 660cc it is pick up happy, the immobilizer is a good feature , only one too. Its does 100 in a breeze and costs me 18km/l + w/ out AC, so thats great. I used to have a 300 + hp car abroad so you can probably imagine how light footed I could possibly drive. The only key to 'success' is v. quick shifts. My avg.drive apeed is 70+ but I am always in 4th under 35km/h so yeah. Kept me warm in winter rains, I've learned to handle its skidding and NO vision rain drives but I am happy I bought the best bang for buck. Btw Suzuki's air filter for a Mehran costs 3k, no jokes. My 5k km maintenance from Shell costs under 3k total! Pak Suzuki also wanted to change my spark plugs at 20k kms but I refused. I have reached 35 k now...my question is when do we really need to change spark plugs?
MORAL: I always thought why people bought this teen dabba, now I know why...it may not be a car enthusiats dream but it sure is a bikers dream.
Thanks for bearing with this HIJACK! Also lemme know what should my first motorway worthy 0 meter Sedan be?
