Coming to my purchase decision of WagonR.
We bought a land in hub balochistan. And we were skeptic about using personal vehicles to drive 100-150 kms daily.
So WagonR was the best option available after Suzuki Mehran. Since the car was to be driven by everyone and anyone who could have their hand on the car. Initially we planned to park it in the offic basement and use it for office use only. We had the option to either go for a mira / Passo or a suzuki WagonR. We didnt consider Cultus at that time.
Being 660cc Mira was called off, and being driven by everyone I wasn't in favour of a japanese car due to maintainence issue and parts availability. Although if a personal car il go for a Vitz anyday.
So later we decided to book a Suzuki WagonR did my homework, talked to people using WagonR, talked to a few careem drivers.
Settled for a WagonR.
Since I was car less using careems, after the 1000kms I decided to use the car for to work and from work. Later it's in office use and at night in my personal use.
The car is worth every penny paid for since we bought it for 11,94,000 for the VXL variant.
The car is being driven aprox 2700-3000 kms a month. I maintained it with Suzuki for the initial 1000-5000-10000 kms but later maintaining it from the dealer ship was becoming a pain since I had to leave the car at Tariq road Danish motors and pick it up the next day. Due to the car being on the run always this wasn't being possible.
So later I have been doing basic maintenance at self. Strict 5000-5200km service intervals. 0W20 Caltex oil, oil filtr and a new airfilter from guard every 5000kms.
A genuine filter costs 4 times the price of a guard filter but change intervals are longer too. Since I drive in a very dusty environment I need to get it changed every 5000 kms so guard is good for me.
Got it September 2018 till date the car has done 48,000km average around 2666 kms a month in 18 months.
In late January the car went till gujranwala and Lahore from karachi. Before leaving the car oil had 4000 something kilometers on it, and aprox 42000 on the odo meter being on the safe side
I got it brake pads replaced, engine oil, spark plugs replaced.
Other then that I have replaced its AC pulley bearing and rear wheel bearings. I drove it in extreme hi levels of water when it rained in August 2019, Even the water came inside the car WagonR is pretty hi considering water came inside.
Because of that the clutch bearing still makes noise. I'm ignoring it since it's a whole days job.
Although I have been warned it would kill the clutch, I'm just going with it.
Once had a not so major accident from the front.
Sent it to Nasser autos being the closest workshop. Had to change compressor, condenser, radiator, front cross member, and a new bumper.
The bonnet. Front right fender were painted out of bonus. They just love painting everything.
Since it's a company car not so worried about the paint and touches.
Got new tires 165/70r13 originally it comes with 145/80r13. The upsize is the closest to the original and widest possible without playing to much with the cars geometry. The 10mm low and 20mm wide helps center of gravity a bit more. But the down side is this size is available in dunlop lm703 and other Chinese brands only. The tires is a turnoff on wet surfaces.
Got new tires at 35000 km only because the original tires felt very ungrippy and the car would skid on the slightest braking over dust, rocky surface, a hot road.
Have treated her miserably, beaten her on the worst possible roads, at very hispeeds, where people stop and think I have driven her without thinking twice. Be it water. Potholes, ditches, tightest roads, even jungles maybe.
Other then that it been a perfect ride. Yes feels very basic, the seats aren't very comfortable, intact the worst seats probably.
The things I miss in this car are only powered side mirrors. Hardly and one sits in the back mostly its driven by one driver and another occupant.
Comparing WagonR with Alto, Alto feels very fragile against the powerful WagonR.
We most probably plan to replace WagonR with another WagonR, in aprox every 2 years. So maintenance isn't going to be an issue.
Its basically a bolan or even a ravi for us, I have loaded her around 600-700kg worth goods in it 2 to 3 times when finding a pickup was an issue.
