Perth To Sydney: A Tale of 4000KM+ Journey

Entering Eucla Motel, where we stayed the night.. were clean and tidy... previously people complained about bad baths, but now its been renovated with brand new stuff, which is nice..

Eucla is the easternmost locality in Western Australia, located in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia along the Eyre Highway, approximately 11 kilometres (7 mi) west of the South Australian border. At the 2006 census, Eucla had a population of 86.

It is the only Western Australian location on the Eyre Highway that has a direct view of the Great Australian Bight due to its position immediately next to the Eucla Pass – where the highway moves out and above the basin known as Roe Plains that occurs between the Madura and Eucla passes.

Yup as I mentioned, the cost in Perth for fuel was 94.8 cents per liter, the more we went inland it went up to 169 cents per liter so it was expensive... on average I was getting 5~7km/l due to load and uphill battle.... so in this case I used 35ltrs for 181km at 5.2km/l approx...

How was the pull with all that load did it accelerated well?

Did you installed extra cross member to mount the tow hitch?

Nice to see your post here, Salarzae Bhai. I occasionally silently read, life is very busy now, as I can same case with you. Australia seems very similar to U.S. in many aspects. I have used Uhaul trailers and trucks for the move. It makes it so much easier. Developed countries, we have to do everything on our own, which is a lot more fun and exciting, compared to Pakistan where you hire someone else for every little thing and take all the fun away. Most Americans, and probably Australians too, paint their own house, fixing, installing small electric stuff utilizing Hardware Retailers like Home Depot, ACE Hardware, etc. Many people in the West also install flooring, drywall, etc. on their own, which makes it a good weekend project. Anyways, it was nice seeing your post. Hopefully you did not encounter any more trouble after the flat tire incident.

It didn't affected the acceleration as I expected. But the fuel economy shows otherwise. The wind drag might have been also the reason for bad economy but overall I was satisfied with its performance.

I had to copy this post from a previous one regarding towbar...

regarding installation, they don't come as standard or pre-installed and you'll have to request and the dealership will install ADR approved towbar for you. You can install an approved and complied aftermarket towbar by professional installers too.

For the trailers, there are a few rules to follow. Like, all trailers with GTM (trailer mass) exceeding 750kg must have brakes and that all trailers must have stop lights as well as indicators. Another thing to consider is that, if the trailer is not fitted with brakes, then the max mass of trailer must not exceed the mass of the car and that the GCM (combined mass of car and trailer) must not exceed 4.5 tonnes and if it does, you might need consultation from the required authority whether to drive or not in that state ... etc etc..

I had the choice to use U-Haul too, but spending a grand on rent is not an option if you can spend a grand on your own trailer, which will be useful tool in future too...

Yes, Australians also do renovations and projects by themselves. I'd do too. Why? 'Coz I won't want to spend 4~5 grand on painting a house if I can get all the stuff for a grand or a little more and do it myself... I won't spend $150 on oil change if I can buy the oil for $28 and do it myself.... aside from saving, its fun too

The weekend projects are all fun. Pakistanis live a very different world. They think it makes them less of a person to do things on their own. When I visited Pakistan last time in 2011, I started painting the front gate of my parents house, I was doing it out of my American habit and enjoyed painting it, but when neighbors saw me doing it, they made snide remarks like "Koi rang waala aaj nehi milaa aap ko", I just laughed, LoL.

Pakistanis are missing out on doing things on their own, and just making big issues out of nothing but false self pride.

The Pakistanis live in a different world, they think doing things with their own hands is a bad thing. Some dare devil, trying to act all wanna be Westernized may do DIY, on their cars after watching Americans, Europeans working on their cars, but so they will do it, only when they see a Gora doing it on youtube, etc... LoL.

The other day a group of friends were talking about life on both side and came to the conclusion that people staying in M.E are more prone to show off, while whoever came to this side of the culture, they are looked at with suspicion and disbelief....

When I was leaving the Perth, I had to hand over the keys to the house where I lived and though I paid a cleaning service to clean and patch the walls off marks, I still went and bought stuff to do the paint correction, which I enjoyed thoroughly. I'd have done the whole cleaning process too but the agreement was to clean it by a professional and approved company. Alway did my car's brakes, oil and filter change... except the new tyres which I bought ...
