Its a sad day today. My car has done 40k km and I bought it second hand at 30k km. After getting two official pakwheels inspections done, the inspector offered to do an unofficial inspection at half the price. I agreed and yes I know it was not the right thing to do. No issues were found.
I recently decided to sell my car and got an official inspection done. The rating was 9.1 and no issues were found. During this time I noticed that the radiator was reducing the water levels and I had to top it up every 4 or 5 days. This problem got bad over the last month and I decided to take it to Peugeot Service center near Ziauddin Hospital Karachi.
The team checked the engine area and discovered that the previous owner had got some after market mechanical work done. The turbo lines and water lines were directly linked etc and they had started to leak again. I have been served with a bill of over Rs. 16 lacs. The team said that it will take them a week and a half to get the parts and start working on this. This is just depressing. The point is that no inspection, either official or unofficial is conclusive. And secondly, Peugeot parts are super expensive and not readily available.
As for the gentleman who sold me this car.... I leave him to the judgement of God.
