You were adviced to show us fail status screenshot. If it fails as soon as you click start, your device is not connected to computer properly. Flashing is easiest, provided you are following steps correctly, which you are not.

No its not hard, but it takes hit and trials. Market rate for this simple flashing is 500-800rs.

Odin failed because you forgot to enable usb debugging after factory reset.

Before clicking start in odin. Make sure 'added' is written in the message box and the light blue highlighted box '0:[COM8]' is there.

If you can't see these two things, then either usb debugging is not enabled, usb drivers missing or USB connection is poor.

The guy took it to market and even market people weren't able to fix it!
He came home and told me he'll take it to Samsung service center tomorrow, they'll fix it, hopefully! :S

Yes. Just flashing the appropriate modem will cure it. I guess the csc, modem is missing in the firmware tar.md5

Screenshots indicate, phone csc is not changing after flash. I wonder how he got Kenya csc, that too several successful firmware flashings. Same seems to be with modem.

If possible, dial *#1234# and post screenshot.

Dial *#06#. Does it show null invalid imei, 0000000, 0049 etc?. Since its posting unreal imei so you can post screenshot.

Screenshots indicate, phone csc is not changing after flash. I wonder how he got Kenya csc, that too several successful firmware flashings. Same seems to be with modem.

Maybe he has efs related issue, what do you say?.

It doesn't shows 00000000 it is showing an IMEI number but an incorrect one!

anyway.
you guys have to know that All new samsung are now based on Certificates and they are Unique. every phone have it's own and now no one can generate it. ( can be copy from one phone to another but very risky and lengthy and time wasting thing. even not all shopkeepers can do and if some one try to change/repair imei phone will not be get signals. you please come to my skype: Faisal_Computer will check your phone. also why you flashed your phone ? what was imei ? did you flashed with all 4 files include PIT ?

These two Software are very universal & easy to use for Root. almost 90% phones are supported with it. Chinese & Original both.

It was initially on 4.4.4 with csc of vodaphone (VOD). Flashed the german lolipop 5.0.1 (DBT) without any problems.

Extract (unzip) the firmware file
Download Odin v3.09
Extract Odin zip-file
Open Odin v3.09
Reboot phone in Download Mode (press and hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons)
Connect phone and wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
Add the firmware file to AP / PDA
Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
Click the start button, and wait for it to pass.

Ok, so the guy didn't had time to go to Samsung service center this weekend and probably tomorrow he'll go to Moosani Mobile.
It would be really kind of you if you could talk to Moosani and tell him that a guy will bring a white grand 2 tomorrow which is probably locked to a region.
